I’ve recieved a couple good answers as to how to make an ordinary electric golf cart go faster. A couple people have mentioned removing or disabling the limiter/regulator. Where is it exactly on a golf cart and how specifically do I disable or remove it?

I used to see older people that had a hard time walking using them but now I only see people of rotund proportions that are just too lazy to walk using them and it really bothers me. What about you?

I have a Taylor-Dunn Electric flat bed cart Model # B-254, that starts to slow down when it starts getting cold. I recently had the cart serviced, they replace the forward and reverse coil, the speed pedal, tested the computer which tested fine, finally I replaced the batteries….(6 volt) Now that it’s starting to rain and get cold the cart is starting to slow down….have no freaking clue of whats going on.

Whatever is between the batteries and the motor gets hot from time to time. I spray WD40 on contacts and pedal linkage and this seems to help. ?

The cart has a "live" axle thats gonna turn anyway so why cant I rig a pulley to connect it to an alternator and use it to extend my range? I do not expect the cart to run forever, I know perpetual motion is impossible. I just wanna get a few extra miles per charge. I have been told it wont work can someone explain why?

I twisted my ankle a few days ago. Because of this I’ve been avoiding going to the store but there was stuff I needed so I went to WalMart (one of the huge supercenters) yesterday. I opted to use an electric cart because it is too painful/difficult to walk and had noone to help with the shopping. I am very obese but normally I don’t use these electric carts nor do I park in handicapped spaces. Based on the glares and a few insults everyone (including the employees) must have assummed that I was using the electric cart because I’m fat and lazy. Was I wrong or rude to be using the cart since I’m not elderly or handicapped?

It’s about 15-20 years old, but it has new replaced batteries. I drive it on a paved surface, pretty flat. I’m not sure of its voltage.

Ok, well me, and 2 friends where bored at 3 am and we went to go skate in a small stores parking lot, we went inside to get a drink and saw 5 of those electric carts, so we decided to take them for a spin, we had fun for about 25 minutes, making courses to race on and what not and where having a good time. Then we finnaly where told to put them up and call it a night.
My question is, is there anything that they could do to us for riding on the carts, I know that it would have been wrong if someone that needed it didn’t have one to use, but there where 2 left, and it was 3 AM and it was a small store so there where not many customers, we saw maybe 3.
So is there anything they could do besides kicking us out, because they of course had us on camera?
btw, wasn’t quite sure what catagory to put this in…

I was just wondering because I was in a store with my baby in a stroller. As I was browsing at merchandise in an aisle, a man in one of those electric carts (that the store provides) rolled up extremely close to me. So I assumed that maybe he wanted to look at some of the merchandise that was in front of me. So I kindly moved down the aisle a bit to allow him access. Again, the man shoved his electric riding cart right close up against me nearly touching me with it. So I finally asked him if he needed assistance and he rudely stated that he wants to get passed me and my baby. As a result, I pushed the stroller aside to allow him to pass and go on his way. But what perplexed me was why he didn’t just go around me and the stroller when there was plenty of room to go around us in the aisle. Are those electric riding carts really difficult to steer? Your help in answering this question is greatly appreciated.

I am interesting in buying a 48v electric golf cart, but I have a hill right next to my house that I would be going up frequently. It is a pretty steep hill, I would say it is about a 45 degree angle going up.

I am in a portable wheelchair and a lot of times when I go to a store they either don’t have any electric wheelchairs or they are all being used. Also alot of the time it’s extremely difficult to find a handicap praking space. Sometimes someone is in the space without a sticker or a license plate designating them as handicap. This irks me to no end and the store won’t call the police because they’d lose a customer.
