How long till your Amazon cart's price changes to reflect marketplace price?

I just added an item to my cart that costs 80 bucks. 20 minutes later, I went back to the item’s summary page and saw that the price had risen 0, but the price in my cart is still . How long do I have until the price increases in my cart?

Labor Halls Suck?

"Gabriel," the Labor Ready supervisor calls five minutes later. I get up from my chair and learn that there’s work for me, if I want it, unloading auto parts in Staten Island. Pay is .25 an hour. Forgotten is the safety quiz. He hands me gloves, I’m given directions to the site — take the R train to 86th street, and then the S79 bus over the Verrazano Bridge — and walk out the door. It’s 8:45 a.m.

It takes over an hour to get to the store. I walk inside and identify myself as a Labor Ready employee. Two men behind the counter look up. "You’re late, Labor Ready," one of them tells me in an obnoxious voice. "The other guys are already downstairs. Better hope they don’t just send you home."

I walk through the store and down a set of wooden stairs, where five other men are taking auto parts off the shelves and stacking them in grocery carts. "You Labor Ready?" one of them asks, who appears Middle Eastern.

"Yep."

He explains something about taking red boxes down, and I join in.

There are four other men in my work crew, the friendliest being a skinny 18-year-old from East New York that graduated from high school earlier this year. He’s been working with Labor Ready for two months, and while we load up a cart he explains a few things that he feels I should know. "You work at Labor Ready, you’re at the very bottom — you know that right? No way you can work your way up here. See, this place here paying you seven bucks an hour, but they payin’ Labor Ready maybe twice that. We at the bottom."

"So why are you here?" I ask.

He shrugs. "It keeps me awake. Nothing else does that. And why should I go to college? You get out, owe a bunch of money, and you’ll still be working at McDonalds, just like everyone else."

We spend the next six hours moving engine starters among shelves, unloading a truck, and taking inventory. We’re all sweating a bit, but make sure to take numerous impromptu breaks when the supervisor leaves, which he does every hour or so. By the end of the day we meet with our boss, a friendly white man, who tells us he appreciates our work and grants us a few extra hours on our time sheets. For my six hours of work, he writes nine. A nice guy.

By the time we get back to Labor Ready’s office it’s dark outside. My gross pay is .25, but is cut to .40 after taxes. I walk with the teenager from East New York and another worker to a nearby check-cashing place, and am charged one dollar for the transaction. Now I’ve got .40 cash in my wallet.

On the train home I take an inventory of my finances. It cost me two dollars in subway fare to get here, and another four dollars to get to Staten Island and back, then a final two dollars to get home (I could have saved a dollar by purchasing an unlimited card, but I couldn’t have known this at the time that I boarded my first train). So after a 12-hour period spent waiting, traveling and working, my net income for the day is .40 (I don’t blame Labor Ready for the check cashing fee) — and that’s with a boss that tacked on three extra hours. Plus, I was lucky enough to get work. Many times, according to veteran Labor Ready employees, you show up at 5 a.m., wait for hours, and leave with nothing to show for it.

This waiting in the office and staring at the walls — equal parts boredom and desperation — becomes translated in business plan speak as a "flexible workforce." If one is homeless, an addict, recently out of prison, or otherwise having a hard time finding work, Labor Ready offers the chance to earn a little cash. All they ask if that you show up early, sit around for hours, not curse, not be a sleepyhead, not wear baggy pants, leave the bling bling at home, pass the test, travel wherever they send you, pay for that travel, be nice to the boss, not steal anything, and 86 the doo-rags.

The result is a "win-win" for Labor Ready and their temporary employees. I’ve made .40 today. Labor Ready’s revenue was more than billion last year. It’s great to play for a winning team.

What's more important health care or food?

Most of us can live months or years without seeing a doctor whereas only about 20 or so days without food. So, what would happen if we modeled the food industry after the grocery industry:

You had to go to school for 8-20 years to be able to open a grocery store.
There are no prices on anything. You put whatever you want in your cart and walk out.
You pay your "food insurer" a monthly premium of .
5 months later you get a bill showing that you owe an additional for that visit.
You still have no idea what anything costs.
When you try to buy less expensive things, you ask your grocer. He doesn’t have a clue what things cost and can’t tell you the cost of anything.
We all blame the "free market" for what’s gone wrong and insist that the government create more red tape, more regulations, more oversight, and that the government feed everyone for "free" because the private sector just isn’t savvy enough to handle the complicated food distribution business.

Isn’t the reasonable answer for the government to get the h*** out of health care all together???

Which free shopping cart software should I use?

I sell a product online, and right now take orders through email. I want to implement a shopping cart system that can take credit cards. I have done a little research on free, open-source solutions, but still have some questions.

- How much coding ability do these take to implement well? I have very little knowledge beyond HTML and CSS.

- I basically only have one item to sell, with some options that can be changed (size, color, etc). So I don’t need a system created with a 20,000 item shop in mind. I may sell a couple more items in the future, but the number will never be more than a handful.

- I have noticed many of the solutions offer templates that dictate exactly what you’re entire site looks like. I’m more interested in designing the html and css myself, and then embedding the shopping cart specific items in the proper divs. Is this going to be possible?

- Does it cost you extra to implement credit card payments?

All information is welcome from anyone with experience running these free shopping cart solutions. Thanks.

how much does it cost to start up an e-commerce?

I’m doing a project on starting an online proof reading website and was wondering exactly how much it will cost and what will be the cheapest way to go. After researching I found that it will cost roughly from 1000-3000 which in this price includes Domain Name, Monthly Hosting, Shopping cart system(oScommerce – free open source software), Merchant Account to accept payments online(paypal accepts credit cards, eChecks, paypal account), Incorpate, LLC, or DBA with State to be legal, Tax ID after that from IRS, and a resale certificate is needed as well if you choose to resale products from a distributor or manufacturer.

Is this the cheapest I can go paying this much for an e-commerce?
also how much does it roughly cost per month

can anyone help me learn about this horse?

Hello i am 15 and I am looking to learn about Dole horses or any other small strong draft horses so maybe in the future i could get one. I have no personal experience but i wont be getting a horse any time soon and i know the basics on horse care and the cost will be alot of money. We wont be getting a horse anytime soon and when we do we will have the space for it and i will be older. I would like to hear from an experienced person that knows about this horse or horses in general. I know its a draft horse and the horse i get will probably be a draft horse so it can hold my father who is probably 250 pounds+(he wouldn’t tell me lol) and have energy for a long slow ride. It would be my first horse and i know already older horses are good for beginners and not to go by breed go by temperament. i have some other questions below.

I would like to know:

Does it have a good Temperament?
Is it good for a beginner?
Is it good for pleasure riding?
Can it hold a 300 pound rider on its back?
Where can i get one and how much would it cost?
Can it pull carts and cariages and how much weight can it pull?
Can it go fast?

Suggestions would be nice on other horses that can hold a heavy rider on its back. I know the shire might be able to hold this weight but it is really big and im looking for a smaller strong horse. Thank you.

Obama has done a Great Job with the Gas Prices, or is it the Food Prices stupid ?

Gas went up 1.50 a gallon from last year, then went down .50 a gallon. A cart of groceries was 100 dollars under George Bush. That same cart of Food now costs 150 dollars at the same store with Obama. Why would I or any one else Vote for this kind of crap, for another 4 years. The last time that 140 people were killed by a Tornado was under another Democrat President, who liked to drop Atomic Bombs. Along with two Democrats who gave those Uranium Bomb Secrets to their Democrat friend in the Soviet Union, Joe Stalin. Just Say No to the Democrat Party.

Law suit situation: need help?

A market hires workers with down syndrome to push the shopping carts to the the rack on every floor. A worker on the second floor is pushing a cart when he sees another one. wanting them to push in together, he pushes the one he has in his hand onto the other one. However instead of connecting, the second cart starts speeding down the ramp it was next to down to the first floor. it hits a car causing that car to swerve and hit another car. both cars have damage: the first one has 1000 dollars of damage and the second one has 1300 dollars of damage. Both people then go and sue the market for the cost of the damages and the loss of time from work.

Who is responsible for this incident if anyone?
which damages are legitimate claims for compensation?

How much are corroborator flaps?

Gestation period for kittens? I'm getting worried. Day 64.?

Yes, I’ve "googled." I’ve also asked three vets whom I believed to be competent. Everywhere, I get "59 to 63 days," and that if you run into the 64th day it’s advisable to contact a veterinarian. Well, today is day 64. I’ve contacted those three vets, and all three of them just tell me "unless she exhibits symptoms of a problem just keep a close eye on her and wait." I have had cats in the past and cats who had kittens. This one is just my whole heart and if something happens to her I swear, I will just die.
My cat has never been pregnant. She’s 1.5 years old. I fed this cat from a day one baby and I spent thousands of dollars to keep her alive. Yes, I should have spayed her. For reasons I do not wish to go into except to say we feared her life would be at stake, her VET chose not to spay her. My STUPID ex brought a cat home two months ago. SWORE it was a girl…NOT. WHAM, my cat is knocked up. He has since been dismissed and the cat he left behind neutered. Am I sure today is day 64? Absolutely. That male cat was in my house exactly six hours.
Does she exhibit symptoms that a vet can see, no. Do I know her well enough to know, after feeding her since the moment she took her first breath, that something is really, REALLY wrong? ABSOLUTELY.
I am in debate right now as to whether or not to cart my poor "basketball" cat to the emergency hospital two hours away. It will cost me the equivelent of my house payment just to get her in the door but I stopped caring about the money when I sold my car a year and a half ago to keep her alive. I AM worried that I am being paranoid. I am worried that because she hasn’t routinely been in a vehicle%2

Here's my idea that could save 70 million barrels of Oil every week…your thoughts?

First CHANGE a few laws: Allow ANYONE to drive electric operated vehicles such as Golf-Carts drive on roads with speed limits on 35 mph and under.

Simple licence changes with Insurance changes.

SHORTS trips 2-4 miles represent 79% of ALL fuel usage in America (Car & Driver Mag March 2007) Grocery, Pharmacy, doctor get a pack of smokes etc.

A decent Golf cart 00

I have a golf cart that goes 40 mph…I drive it everywhere and love it. If it rains I pop a roof with doors on it…..I love it.

I estimate it cost me around .49 cents for a full charge.

I do use it on the course and drive to the country club everyday with it…we go to lunch in …..hell everything!

I use it to go to the barn to feed our horses, we have 2 ponds and one lake we drive out to each evening to feed the fish.

what do you think?

if you have an objection….I’ll answer you right back

oh….the bastar*s would be getting billion in taxes from fuel tax…lol
Charlie, Yes I have a solar charger…it takes a full day though
OneT…well yes, I live in west Texas..near Shamrock Tx. But you foks in the city couldbenifit from this…NOT all the time….just the short trips

Can you put shocks on a go-cart or do they have to have a cetain mount to put thm on?

I have a go cart and it very bounce is there any way i can put shocks on it? or do they have to be intalled when yerf-dog built the frame? Can it be done? How much will it cost?

Why is it expensive to set up a small scale website?

I was reading a book on setting up a business from home which said that even a small website will cost 1000s of dollars up front, but why? I have estimated that the total cost of my website is about 0 since I have bought a web site template with a shopping cart that I have customised myself, and I’m going to go with inmotion hosting which costs about per month to host an ecommerce site. So the total cost is approximately 0. A merchant ID will take a small fee from every product I sell online and I will probably try and increase my market exposure through Amazon and Ebay. For my first year of trading I have set the goal of selling a 1000 units. So why is it going to be so expensive. I feel that I have left something out.
