All i have left to do is find a live axle that will work with my 20hp engine and i got to find a clutch for the engine and then i got to run throttle and brake cables i will pay for help i would like to get this done ASAP please help

I have a go cart, but I wanna modify this extra engine I have to hook up for when this original engine goes bad..
I have a pretty nice tomberlin go cart, with a 9.2 hp howhit engine with 150 cc….. it has engine and gearbox all together enclosed with the shaft and sprocket out the side turning the chain, small sprocket from engine, larger sprocket on axle
this extra engine I have is from my old riding mower that wore out, but the engine is still in good running shape, it is a 12 hp commercial industrial briggs and stratton engine, but it has it’s shaft at the bottom

will this be able to work, and how?

i am building a go cart the cart weight will be 125 lb the engine a 12 tooth sprocket the axel a 60 tooth i have come up with the speed all ready now i need to no if a 4 hp enging will be enough to power it

The engine is on my go cart it hasnt started in about for 5 years it never really ran well but it ran. Now it wont start, it has spark and compression and sometimes it kicks but doesnt start. Any one have any ideas how to get it to start?
sometimes it also makes a loud griding sound when u pull it

i noticed its a key shaft, but what is a key shaft? is it like a shaft with random grooves?
do i need a special belt to drive the axle of the go kart?
or would any plain belt be fine like belts found in cars?

I just built a go cart with a 6.5 hp engine. It’s for my 7 year old daughter, and it’s just a little too fast for me to turn her loose on it. Is there any way I can slow this down without changing the throttle cable or sprockets?

I know NASCAR uses restrictor plates … is there anything like this for my motor?

Here’s some useless information (maybe it’ll help). I’m using a motor from Harbor Freight Tools, and a 12T chain clutch from Northern Tool. The engine is one of those new cheap ones from China that’s a rip off of the Honda versions. I also have a 60T sprocket on the drive wheel.

i have a 6.5 hp engine on my yerf dog 3203 go cart, and i would like to know if i can convert it to a pull/electric start. i need both. if it is possible what do i need to do?

I have been very intrigued with engines (car, plane, turbine, even go cart engines) the past few months, I know how they work and many of the deep down details. I want to build an engine, one that isn’t the best engine, maybe one strong enough to power a person sitting on a skateboard for example. I don’t want to do it as much for the continual use of it, but just to be able to say "Hey I built an engine."

Only problem is that I don’t have much of a fund to purchase quality parts, and even so, I don’t know where I would look to try and find it. I could possibly make them…but I’m guessing it would be quite tough to make a piston and those parts haha.

I’m not looking for good specks, keep in mind, but a 2 cylinder engine would be fine with me. I just want to build a working, gas powered engine that would be enough to power something small.

What do i need to get in order make my go cart have reverse? I have a 5hp briggs and straton engine. also is there anyway to have gears on a go cart? would it even be worth having them? i want something like my four wheeler that has an automatic clutch. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Piston is scarred up……go cart engine, 9.2 hp……engine is tore down to the block, with crank assy still all together, head is off, cylinder housing off, how to remove piston?
i removed the ring on each side of the pin, did try bumping out the pin with a small hammer and screwdriver, it didnt seem to move, didnt wanna use too much force, may possibly mess up crank bearings……………..will it drive out?
or will i have to tear down the crank and everything to remove the rod with piston complete, then press the pin out?..gonna install a new piston and pin with rings

The only problem I have is I don’t know what kind of engine to use. I just want an engine strong enough to propel one person (preferably 2 people) and for 600-800 dollars.

What would be good? I was thinking a golf cart engine with a car battery but that wouldn’t go really fast.

What do you think?

i have a modified 5hp go cart engine that runs on methanol. i put a keihin cv carb from a harleydavidson on it and it idles good but when wot it will die if you don’t let off. i can ease into wot and will sometimes go but not under a load. hard to do plug chop w/methanol. is it dieing from too much or not enough fuel.
carb is clean, been on and off so many times its shiney. its a jetting problem rich or lean

does anyone know if the clutches on like a regular go-cart engine would work on a vertical shaft engine?
i think it would, but im not sure if like the way it sitting would like throw it off balance or something, idk

Will I be violating any shopping laws when I go down the food aisles? Has anyone else tried speed shopping. My next step is to make it street legal. Wearing my helmet at Safeway really saved my hide when I hit that stack of peach cans.

I have an old Club Car golf cart. The engine is in the back (obviously), I was thinking it was RWD. I was going up a hill and only the right back wheel was spinning, I was thinking it was just like the other wheel couldn’t force spinning because of the engine being only how many HPs they have. I saw that the drive shaft was going to the back wheels, so is it really RWD? And what are some cool tricks you can do with a golf cart?
