I’m currently 21 years old, a full time sophomore in a community college and planning on attending a state university in fall of 2011 as a junior. My guess is that I have around 2.5 years of school ahead of me until I get my bachelor in some liberal arts major. Currently, I’m undecided in what I will major in, but right now I’m just getting general studies out of the way. I imagine that I will end up majoring into either Philosophy or Psychology, or something withing writing. None of the majors I am interested are likely to get me hired in a high paying position or a sustainable one.

I’m currently working ~30 hours a week in a coffee shop. I’m really tired of working for people (I have been working in food service for around five years now.) I really want to get out working minimum wage- .00/hour being a slave to customers and business owners. I’d like to start making my own money, and considering I do have the intelligence and expertise within coffee, I figure that I could create my own income.

Small espresso stands seem like a very affordable, low risk, high profit yielding operation. If I bought used equipment (with plenty of research) I think I could buy the entire stand for ~8,000 dollars (don’t quote me, I’ve just begun researching.) I’ve maintained and operated espresso machines, I know local roasters from previous jobs who could give me a deal (one guy lets his customers use his coffee grinders/pots for free as long as you buy his beans.) My step dad has his own solar electric equipment and he could try to rig up some panels to make it an efficient cart.

So… I feel like I have plenty of ideas on how I could potentially put it together. Place the cart by big sporting events, festivals, holiday events, etc etc. I live by a very large university so it wouldn’t be difficult to find events.

My limitations would be as follows:

I have a small car that I would not be able to transport the cart in. I would have to buy/lease a truck or trailer to move the equipment and I’m not sure how I could move it easily without help.

I have hardly any money saved. I may be able to pull together ,000 of my own money, but I doubt much more than that.

I have no real credit established. I have ,500 of credit debt but no student loans. I could pay off all the credit this spring if needed.

Questions:

Would it be possible to get a private loan to start the operation? Or could I get a student loan and use the money to buy all the equipment with plans to pay it all back?

I could work another job part time if needed while I get everything going to have some source of income.

If I can’t get a loan I could possibly loan some money from my parents (~4,000 max), but I’m not sure if that is even feasible.

Any suggestions would be helpful. I really feel like I could profit off of doing this. I know the bizz, I’m an excellent barista, and I’m motivated to work for myself.

I have this Electric converted Mazda Miata and it has a DC motor (FB1 4001A) with 50 hp max. It was connected through are Comet Torque Converter ( the same type of auto transmission used in go carts) with belt but its not efficient and I don’t need to idle cause the motor just stops.

I am thinking of putting chain drive in b/w the Motor shaft and the Shaft coming out of Differential ( the shaft are parallel to each other, motor is mounted on top of the differential) .

My concern is how strong of a chain and sprocket do i need (ratings, lbs of weights, etc) because I am not familiar with this chain drive stuff. I did find Grainger’s website with alot of choices on parts.

Was riding with son on older thunder kart go kart, 5 hp engine. Weight of both of us 250 pounds probably did this.

The chain "rides" on the same thing like a bike chain, little "teeth" go into and secure the chain. There’s a top smaller one and a bottom really large one that sits next to tire. Don’t know what it’s called (flywheel, maybe?). Anywho, the top part is BENT – again, probably due to our combined weight (way too much). Now I gotta replace it. The smaller "flywheel" piece I’m talking about goes into the engine but the part that "holds" the chain is external to engine (this is the part that’s bent/broken).

What’s the top part called? It holds chain externally but goes into engine. Can a common man replace this?

For the past two nights I have been having some weird dreams.

Saturday night I had a dream I was laying in bed and like I came out of my body and srunk to like me but the size of a peice of sand. I crawled up into my uterus and was walking around.All of a sudden my husband started having sex with the normal size me and all of a sudden his sperm started coming at me. I noticed an egg, so I grabbed one of the sperm and shoved it into the egg.

Then last night I had a dream I pulled my cervix out of my body and was looking at it, like I was tryng to open it but it had metal things sticking up.

Then right after that I had a dream I was walking around a store with a naked newborn baby. I have no idea where the body came from, but I wrapped it up in a blanket and put it in the part of the cart where an older kid sits. While I was walking around I saw one of my son’s friends from school and she was talking to me in sign lanuage and I turned around and the baby was gone. I looked around and then my best friend walked up and put the baby back.

I am not pregnant, and we are not trying to get pregnant, but also not doing anything to stop it.

Any ideas what these dreams could mean?

i am going for my orientation at wal-mart this sat from 9am to maybe about 5pm so what i need to know is what the heck am i gonna have to do i applyed for part time cart pusher so if anyone can help plz do.

My daughter is 8 yrs old and she is still wearing a pull up or dippers shes not potty trained mostly dippers and she sucks on a binky as she calls it and she still wants to be breast fed but instead of breast feeding her i have been giving her a bottle or a sippy cup she has never been potty trained and she sleeps in a toodler bed i give her a bottle when se goes to bed and she still in the morning sits in a high chair and she is a very sweet girl and she also gets fed and wears a bib she acts like a little baby and she also still sits in a car seat seat,sits in the part of the cart for wear a baby sits in and she is really short and small so i dont see whats wrong but she is 8 and the things im concerred about is really bothering me so plz help and i think i need to cut the bottle and dippers but i dont know how to break it to her and also she sleeps with a night light s guard rails and she still wets the bed so tell me what she needs to do differently and what i can keep the same is this a bit to much and she also still takes naps and ps when i take her to change her dipper she lays on the changing table plz help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10 POINTS PLZ EXPLAIN WHATS WRONG

Ok so i asked a question not long ago about if my 20 yr old pony was too old to learn to drive, and i got some positive feedback.
So, i was hoping someone had a step by step guide to making a 2 wheel horse cart
It can just be a guide of all th e peices needed, and which part goes where………..
My dads a welder and i am going to ask for my birthday (its in 3 months) if he can make me a cart for my learning pony.
I will just do a bit of ground driving and some tips i got from people until then.

I see alot for sale fairly cheap in beat up condition, I see many a chassis for around 0-0 with wheels and breaks and steering installed. However If I look hard enough around my garage and out at the farm and keep checking craigslist and freecycle I could get alot of the necessary parts cheap and put a used, or buy a new, motor for it.

If I custom build I will make it chain driven, horizontal engined, and hopefully awd which seems impossible. I would mostly be riding around on the farm when the hay is cut. I have ATV’s but I think a fast low cart would be more fun, especially on the gravel

For breakfast i have a bowl of total including skim milk. Then i go to work where i push carts for a better part of the day. On my first break i have a piece of fruit. On my lunch i usually have a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread with some veggies. on my last break i have another piece of fruit. for dinner i will have very lean meat on either whole grain bread or with whole grain rice, with some kind of vegetable. It seems to be working, i’ve lost 9 pounds over the past week.

When I used to work full-time and could afford it, I used to take my son and a friend of his to the Dells every year. It was so fun riding on the Ducks, and driving the go-carts, and going to the Ripley’s Believe-It-Or-Not Museum. The best part was at the end of the day when we’d go for a relaxing boat ride in Lake Delton.

I like to wear a elaborate Jar Jar Binks costume and mask as part of my every day life. I went to the grocery store, and saw how depressed everyone was so I thought I would help. I started dancing in the aisles, and yelling at people, and running up to people and taking things out of their cart. It was great fun. Then when I went to check out, there was only one lane open and a long line. I screamed and screamed while in line and danced, bumping into other people. I opened a box of baking soda and threw it around. Finally I got to the checkout. I started making noises at the cashier, and I kept pressing buttons on the computer. Some people in line were groaning because the line was getting very long, but that gave me even more incentive to make them laugh. I climbed onto the table and started kicking peoples groceries on the floor and singing. The manager and one of his goons pulled me off and said I could never shop there again. Can I sue for harrasement or possibly assualt?

I’ve been involved in home party plan a long time ago. I notice that this business model is no longer available. Even Tupperware have gone away from this business model and gone to a more brick and motar or "cart" in the shopping mall format.

Do you think this home party plan business model is stil viable? Would you particpate or even start a home part plan business yourself?

right now, he is dissembling NERF guns to modify one NERF gun so it has more power. He also dissembled a discarded VCR and wants to mount those parts on his NERF gun. he asked if I knew how to connect electricity to the VCR parts to make them work. I think he is going for the space ray look.
he builds fantastic things with LEGOS, then leaves them, and their pieces ,all over the house.
she wants to stop the behavior, i think it should be encouraged, but channeled in a safe direction.
if he was older, i would just give him old lawn mowers to fix or turn into a go cart.
does anyone know of anything he could take apart and turn into something else? something complicated that takes time to figure out how to dissemble, and requires little adult supervision. I am willing to supervisor any work that needs power tools, but I cant be there every day, so it cant require power tools for the whole project.
I can find lots of VCR’s, printers, computers, etc, for him to disassemble, but i cant think of anything to turn those parts into.
i think he is too young to play with electricity, but battery power is ok.
I have to disagree with the weapons. I have seen no evidence of toy weapons, in the hands of an ADHD or non ADHD causing a problem.
the kid could take a broom stick and whittle it into a sword. not giving him a NERF gun wont stop any violent behavior he may have.
schools like "zero tolerance" towards weapons because they get to blame all problems on the weapon, and make a mess out of the kid that brought a nail file to school.

he is in sports. as well as special help from the school for ADHD and anger management.

I believe the leaving legos around the house is the symptom, not the disease. treating it will only cause more problems. in short, he is bored. he needs more of a challenge then LEGOS. turning the NERF gun into a bigger weapon is the only way he could find to channel that energy. if an engineer was stranded on island with coconuts, he will build things out of coconuts.

I’m writing a short story and I’m stuck on this one part. I’m not familliar with medical terminology, but the patient in my story goes into cardiac arrest and I’m just wondering what a medical staff would be doing to try to save the patients life? How many people are generally in the room? What kind of medical staff would need to be on hand (for example, how many nurses would be assisting what doctors, and what would each one be doing? Are they injecting him with needles? Are they using a crash cart?) What would be the sounds of the room, would people be in a panic, would it be busy and hectic? And what type of machines would they be using? I was to be as accurate as possible, so using medical terminologies (with proper explaination) would be greatly appreciated!

I work part-time at a grocery store and usually just bag groceries for 6 hour shifts. I’ll also have to sometimes get carts and do other small tasks. How can I make this more fun, or make the time go by faster?

i have a 250cc kinroad go cart that has a bent axle. and i was wondering if i heat it to straighten it back in place will the metal loose its mass and snap or will it work and be okay??

OK so I need help deciding which car parts to buy.
