My neighbor put in a in ground swimming pool that took up pretty much of his back yard, and gave very little room for their three children to play. They don’t have a front yard so their children play in ours, plus our back yard which is pretty big. I think that is wrong don’t you think? Plus, he is always borrowing’s things from us. And never returns them. My husband keeps saying he is going to ask for these things back. Like my sons 200 dollar bat, bases for base ball, two extension cords. and a cable that goes from the wall to your t.v. the wife has borrowed butter and never paid for it or gave me one in return. They live very well they have a hummer, and another suv, a golf cart that seat 8 the new one, and a house on the lake. I like to let people borrow but this is getting out of hand. What do you think? We use to be friends with them but they party to much and they have really taken advantage of our friendship.

What type of car seat should I buy? What did you use?

I have a 3.5 year old and am about to have a baby. So I need to buy a car seat! I just don’t know what to get to make things more convenient and/or cheaper with less hassle. For my son I used an infant carrier for the first year, but I remember him getting very heavy to carry in it and eventually we just started taking him out of it instead. What I want to know is, with a 3 year old am I going to be able to handle carrying around a carrier? Will I be able to handle a 3 year old while carrying around a baby? Should I just buy one of those infant to booster seats? (all in one) And skip the carrier altogether? What did you do? How did it work for you? I also have not figured out how I will go grocery shopping with a carrier, if I put the carrier in the seat of the cart, my 3 year old would ride in the basket, then where would I fit groceried? lol. Obviously I am new at this. Tell me what works for you!!!
Correction, most infant carriers have a weight limit of 20 to 25 lbs, I have light babies, this should not ba a problem with me, but I do have a bum shoulder (for carrying it).

It is not recommended to use any harnessed car seats after 6 years.

Most all in one car seats, or at least the one I would get, is not recommended to be used after 6 years, but after removing the back and just using the booster, it is safe for up to 9 years.
I know how to read and have researched the car seats I am talking about. It states on the car seat that though the harnessed portion of the car seat may expire after 6 years. The backless booster can be used for an additional 3 years.
But I do agree that when it comes time to use a backless booster, if at all, I can just go buy one, they are cheap.
My concern is not the weight. My son outgrew his infant seat in height before ever reaching the weight limit. Forcing us to purchase a convertible seat to continue the rear facing position. I assume this child will be similar, certainly not the opposite.

can a infant car seat go on top of a grocery cart?

my son docent know how to sit yet.yesterday me and my boyfriend were shopping at Dollar tree. when we had paid for the stuff we bought at the exit there were alot of stuff in our way. we couldn’t get through so my boyfriend moved one of the stuff that was in our way and when he was about to move it my son fell with the car seat to the floor and when it hit my 6 month old son hit the floor to. but before anything happened the employees were just siting around not doing anything that store was nasty looking. i went to the hospital right away and yesterday and they doctor said he was ok. so then i went to a lawyer and he said "IN ORDER TO GET STARTED AND SUE THE STORE THAT BABY MUST HAVE A INJURY OR SOMETHING WRONG WITH HIM. SECOND WE MUST KNOW IF THE CAR SEAT CAN GO THERE. 3 GO TO COURT". i see my son not acting the way he should. as a mom i know there is something wrong with him. plz help some advise? will help plz
money comes and goes i care about my son.i really care less about the money!

How do you take your 5 month old out of the car?

Do you carry them in your car seat when you go to visit someone? What about when you go to the store? Just curious because my girl is getting very heavy. She can sit up in a cart, but what if she would get sleepy while shopping. I’ve never used a sling, but she weighs 17 pounds so she is pretty big. If you do use a certain item to carry them, what particular one do you use?

How to shop with baby?

I currently use a car seat and just stick in the cart to shop.

How do I shop once I move on to the convertible car seat???

My daughter is almost 6 months and not strong enough yet to go in the seat of the shopping cart.

Thanks for any advice.

What do you do at the store if you don't use a carrier?

My daughter is 2 pounds shy of growing out of her carrier carseat. Whenever I go to the store and run errands, I keep her in there, and put her in the seat of the shopping cart. But when she grows out of it, what am I supposed to do? I could sit her in there, but her head is wobbly, and unless I’m holding onto her she’s going to fall over. What did you do when your child grew out of their carrier, but couldnt quite sit up by themselves yet?

1 seater? 2 seater? Go Cart?

Which would be more fun? Is it actually fun to be in the passenger seat?

infant car seat question?

would an infant carseat if into a small cart like this ( http://premiercarts.com/Tech_5341.htm )
that some grocery stores have? would make it alot easier to go food shopping with hubby when the baby comes, he could push the big cart and I could put the carseat in the little cart? I wouldnt like putting it in the seat of the large cart, and there would be no room for food with the seat in the large basket area. thanks

Do I need to get a infant car seat? Is it okay to go right to the convertible car seat?

I am debating whether I should start out with a convertible seat, or with an infant seat. The "convienence" of lugging a baby bucket around in a stroller/shopping cart is not an issue for me. I plan to leave the seat in the car, and carry the baby in sling or something. When the baby is too big for a sling, I’ll use an umbrella stroller.

option 1: 1st years true fit, then later opt for a booster, when my baby exceeds the 65 pound weight limit

option 2: graco snug ride 35 until she/he reaches 35 pounds, then switch a convertible booster, such as the graco natralis seat after 35 pounds

Which is a better option? Hubby and I share a CR-V, so I was kind of concerned about the angle issue. Would an infant seat be easier to install at the correct angle? I am worried about having to rig it up with pool noodles and such, even with a professional installer. Either option would allow for extended rear-facing of up to 35 pounds (in theory).
Yes, pool noodles are what the professional car seat installers suggest to create the proper 45 degree angle needed for a rear-facing seat.

Can I make a go cart street legal in Illinois?

I have a go cart that I kinda customized just a little bit. I fit a Kawasaki 650 ninja motor on the back of it. It has a bulked up front end for accidents and on the bulked up fron it has headlights with highbeams and fog lights, blinkers and on the back I have three brake lights and blinkers and a light that I can throw on when pushing it backwards. I also put a roll cage on it with a racing seat and 3 point racing seatbelt. I have reflectors on each side and a horn. I also put on air shocks on the back and a full suspension on the front with a Arms and shocks and springs so it has some height to it (about 5 inches off the ground). It also has street compound tires with tread. I just recently moved to Illinois (20 mins. out of Chicago) and I want to know if I can make it street legal because it has the lights and height and obviously plenty of power to keep up with traffic. If someone knows how to and how much time it would take and how much money please tell me. Also can I insure it because I have about 00 into it and im sure people will want to steal it. Anything will help! Thanks!
I have a license and I don’t want a cheap used car I want something custom

How do you go grocery shopping with your infant?

Today my husband and I went grocery shopping with our 3-month old for the first time. I brought her in her stroller and he pushed the cart.

I don’t know if people don’t normally bring their little babies to the market or if I just never noticed before (probably the latter), but how do people usually bring their little ones to the market? Mine isn’t old enough to sit up in the child seat of the cart. Do you just put the car seat in the cart? propped up in the child seat (is that safe?)? I guess I would put her in my ergo carrier or moby wrap if I had to go alone but I was wondering how everyone else did it.
i have a graco safeseat carseat. does anyone know if this snaps on to grocery carts safely? Thanks!! :)

Does it bother you when people get close to your kids?

I was at a grocery store the other day, and my one and a half year old was sitting in the shopping cart seat. I went to the front of the cart to put my groceries up on the conveyor (I’m 9 months pregnant, I can barely lean over the side of the cart, much less lean over my daughter as well) and while I was doing this, the older woman in line behind me got extremely close to my daughter while putting her own groceries up on the conveyor. I’m not talking about coming within a four-foot radius, I’m talking about this woman being right up against the shopping cart handle. Her arm was literally inches from my daughter’s hands, and her hip was brushing against my daughter’s shoes. It made me very angry, so I said to my daughter (who was staring at the buckle on the lady’s purse strap) "No, you can’t grab the lady’s purse even if she is too close to you." Obviously this was for the lady, not for my daughter. Then the woman started moving her groceries up on the conveyor because it hadn’t moved yet, putting them within reach of my daughter, and I had to tell her not to touch. When the person in front of me finally finished, I moved the cart away saying "Let’s get you away from the obnoxious old lady now."

Now I know that that might have been a bit of a hormonal moment there. But it seriously bothers me when people invade my daughter’s personal space. I don’t like strangers touching her or getting close to her, or even talking to her without talking to me first. Do any of you feel the same way, or is this just my pregnancy making me irritable?
There’s a question about a 12-year-old selling drugs to a guy who drugs his dog, but I’m accused of trolling because I’m curious if other parents dislike strangers invading their kids’ personal space? Okay..

Like I said, this woman was literally brushing up against my daughter. While I might not have been exactly tactful, it blows my mind that people think it’s okay to get that close to others, even if (especially if) it’s a child.
Leigh: I was raised to respect people’s personal space. I grew up being taught that it was never okay to push, touch, or bump people if there was a way not to. It’s just disrespectful, my whole family is like that. I don’t think that this woman was obnoxious because she *got* that close to my daughter, I think she was obnoxious for *staying* that close to her, especially after I had already commented on it. And I feel like it was just stupid of her to move her groceries even closer to a toddler than they already were.

None of you first few answerers actually answered my question; does that mean you’d be okay with some strange woman rubbing against your kid in a checkout line, rather than waiting two minutes for the line to move?

What is the best way to work with temper tantrums and sensory issues with toddler?

I have a toddler who was some sensory issues, so I buy him specifically recommended toys. He has had a tendancy to throw temper tantrums from time to time (especially when told "No"). These tantrums include head banging, scream as loud as possible, pinching self, biting self, pulling hair and sometimes acting out on older sibling. I have tried to distract him with things when I see the behavior starting. I have tried time out in the playpin. It much more controllable at home because he can run and play and stay busy. Going to the store and driving around are another story because he is strapping in the cart or car seat. Just looking for more ideas to curb this behavior.

Many thanks!

Three-wheeled EZ-GO golf cart!!?

I have an EZ-GO golf cart and it has 3 wheels, no back seat, seperate headrests and 2 cupholders. I was wondering what the name for it is, what year it came out, and where I can find lights for it. Thanks!

Has anyone taken their toddler (I have a 1yr old) on a long train ride? If so, how did it go?

I’m planning on taking my baby who turns 1 tomorrow on a trip from Tampa, FL. to Kansas in a few weeks. I flew with him once when he was 6 months old and he barely wanted to sit still then. Now, he’s bigger, stronger, and has a bit of a temper, and I’m afraid of taking him on an airplane because he will refuse to sit still and he will scream all of the time because he can’t run all over the place. He’s a happy baby but when you try and restrain him in a car seat or in a shopping cart, he gets so mad.

I’m considering a train ride which will take around 2 whole days. If you’ve been on a train before, what is it like? How are the seats? Can you get up and walk around easily? If you took your young toddler, how did he or she do?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Plus, I’m terrified of flying with my baby. If something went wrong, I would consider it my fault because I put his life at risk. I absolutely hate flying with him because I worry that something will go wrong.

How do I make my dog stop chewing?

I have a 9 month old Blue Heeler that I adore. She chews up everything: blankets, chair cushions, plants, shoes, golf cart seats. etc. My dad says if she destroys one more thing, he is going to kill her. I don’t know how I can make her stop. I know it’s just a phase all young dogs go through, but she needs to stop now. If not… I won’t have my dog anymore.

Please help me save my dog?
Also, she is an outside dog. She runs around the yard constantly, and we play everyday when I get home. I have bought her rawhides, pig ears, cow hooves, and chew toys. And I have NEVER seen her chew on anything. My parents just assume she is the culprit, and nothing I say can convince them otherwise. I can not punish my dog when I never see her doing anything wrong.
