i need to attach a vertical shaft engine to a home made go cart type thing how could i do thisbecause i cant get a horizontal engine also i need to think of a cheap brake system that is super cheap but enough to stop a 300lb cart going 10mph
You may be better off trying to find a horizontal shaft motor, or find an old lawn tractor that had a vertical shaft motor and grab the axle out of it. then you will have a few gears to play with and may be able to go a little faster. I not sure about the engine but I was thinking about the brakes and if you know what you are doing you may be able to find an older foriegn car with some little rear drum brakes and use those along with the emergency brake cable for the stopping power you need.
