i have a go cart that is a 2 wheel drive (rear wheels) it is built very sturdy and has suspension. i would like to know if it would be possible to put any kind of small dirt bike engine on it (50-150cc) and if so how hard would it be to hook up and mount.

i would prefer a 150 4 stroke motor because it would require less rebuilding and if you have a welder or welding experience this should be a breez with the right tools to make brackets.

I have done this and it was not too hard though we mounted a 250cc 2 stroke engine to a home built go-kart… WAY too much power…
A 50cc engine would be perfect for most. Weld up a few motor mounts, sprocket alignment is critical, as is making sure you can route your controls…

Definitely do-able with some planning and ingenuity.
