i need some help lol. my gocart runs PERFECT as far as the engine goes. but when i rev up. the power is VERY low. takes forever to get going. i just replaced the belt . but it might be the wrong size?i belive it is. or do you think its a bad clutch? i bought a 1 non ribbed belt. 27 in. bu i belive it should be a 3 ribbed 27 in. i was just wondering if the lack of power is coming from the belt or a bad clutch. by the way. the clutch still functions proplery as far as i can tell.
yes, it sounds like the clutch is worn out and needs replacing it is not locking up. pull the clutch apart and check the shoes and wear. as the shoes wear out ..they become to thin to lock up as the centrifugal force from it being spun. they do not reach the outer hub with the right amount of pressure for proper lock up.
