This is a few year old motor it was sitting for about 1 year so i completely cleaned it and the crab. it runs perfect for like 2 minutes then just smokes out of the carb and shuts off and wont start unless it sits for a fee minutes and then does the same thing. What is the thing under the gas talk that goes in the engine it is connected to the throttled and moves when u hit the throttle. i don’t know what its called but when u hit the throttle it goes down and when u let it off it comes back up.
The thing under gas tank is the governor, controls speed
U can take it off and it will run faster. sounds like u need a new diafram, a little thing on the left side of carb, next to the muffler, has five screws in it. when u take it apart there will be a spring and a washer that fits the spring be sure u put that back in after replacing diafram. U can buy a new one at Napa, Lowes , small engine repair shops.
Plugged fuel filter? (in-line)
Gas cap not venting and letting air in to the gas tank?
Crap plugging the carburetor needle and seat?
Make sure your oil level isn’t too high?
Make sure your air filter isn’t wet with gas or oil restricting air flow into the carburetor.
