My husband and I are pretty much newly weds, 1 yr anniversary in 2 days!!! woohooo! but besides that, we are throwing our first ever halloween party this year together at our home, an all adult party, no babies or kids will be attending. Of course i’m in charge of the goodies and treats, but I’VE NEVER THROWN A REAL PARTY!!! HELP! what do I buy as drink and finger foods, I’ve thought of a few things, and have some new and interesting drinks to mix up, but does anyone have any awesome ideas of what I should stock my cart with??? What kinds of things would you like to have at a halloween party you attend???
Thanks for the help! and anyother ideas you come up with, go ahead and let me know.
p.s. Also, tight budget, not a whole lot to work with, but enough, so keep it cheap! lol
pickle chips dips meat soda
Chips and dip are standard of course. You might even want to try your hand at making spinach-artichoke dip. What’s also a good idea to buy is pretzels, crackers and cheese, maybe even little Halloween-themed cupcakes. Also, you can’t go wrong with sodas and alcohol.
Good luck with your party!
Go to Cos co or Sam’s club and buy the cake and the pin wheels . Buy in bulk, for a party it is cheaper. Also buy the chicken wings and fry or bake the wings. flavor them as follows, plain hot, and barbeque, or honey mustard . Rice and potato salad goes a long way. They also sell a 5lb. tub of macaroni, and potato salad for $4.99. Guacamole, salsa and chips are also sold there.
here is a sample menu:
Hot wings
Rice, potato salad, or macaroni salad, or pasta salad.
Toss salad
fruit punch, add sliced oranges on top. or strawberries is really nice.

I would have everyone wear a costume and make dirt cake
1 (18.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix
3 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
1 (16 ounce) package prepared chocolate frosting
1 (16 ounce) package gummi worms
Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour batter into cupcake pans and bake as directed on cake mix box. Let cupcakes cool thoroughly before frosting.
Spread cupcakes lightly with chocolate icing. Sprinkle cookie crumbs on top.
Cut gummi worms in half (as many as you like). Put icing onto cut end of the worms and stick to the top of cupcakes. You can use as few or as many as will fit on each cupcake. Let icing set for 10 minutes and then enjoy.
or
Flayed Skin Cheeseball
Basically, you’ll need a face mold. A halloween mask will work well if you covered the eye holes. Line the inside of the mold with plastic wrap. Cover the inside of the mold completely with proscuitto. Shread it into small pieces first, as large swathes look cool, but are really hard to eat. Then mix up a cheese ball mixture. You’ll need probably a double recipe, depending on the size of your mold. Ours usually has shredded cheddar and cream cheese, and something for a spicy kick. Press your cheese ball mixture into the mold, and chill. Remove from mold onto a plate, add eyes using sliced olives. (This idea for making the pupil/iris from the Evil Mad Scientists might be a nice idea as well). Surround the face with crackers or pita chips, and Enjoy~!
