I just foudn out that whenever my friend forgets his wallet or something at the supermarket, he will just leave his cart full of food in the middle of aisle. That totally pissed me off because I work at a grocery store, and a lot of times the perishables in the cart go bad if they are not put away? This costs the store money, and hurts the business. I was just wondering how many people out there have done this. And if you have, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DONT DO IT AGAIN.
I AGREE with you. i work at pick’n save, a grocery store, and people do that all the time, and it makes me mad. but yesterday i went to get carts and i found a lady’s purse in the cart. so i called her and she was like oh. ill pick it up to morrow or the next day. no big deal. duh what a looser. but yea people need to understand that you need to put stuff away when your done, or if you are not going to buy it
why have you put this under jokes and riddles ??
i havent done it buti would if i forgot my money or i had to leave in a rush for whatever reason!
i dont think its that bad
Never would
I forgot my wallet once, then put everything back first. I was thinking of it costing the store money AND hurting your feelings, so it’s all good. I grabbed my wallet then returned and started anew.
I have left a cart with stuff in it, but I put the perishables away.
Yes, I have done it – and will do it again whenever the lines are too long, and most of the cashiers places are unmanned.
It makes me mad, it wastes my time, amd my perishables are oftem in danger of defrosting while I wait in line to pay.
I hope my message gets across to the management.
There have been a couple times I have discovered walking up to the checkout that I forgot my wallet. What I usually do is push the cart over next to the customer service desk, tell them that I forgot my wallet and will return in about ten minutes. That’s how long it takes me to get to the house and back. And when I come back my cart is there and all I gotta do is make it through checkout. I have never left a cart sitting full of food and just left it there though.
I only did this once, but I had no choice. I was in Germany in a military commisary (grocery store) when the electricity went out. They had no back-up plan and could not sell anything at all without the use of their computerized registers. At first, we were asked to just wait until the power came back on. Many people left and abandoned full shopping carts. I chose to stay because I needed groceries too bad and had to wait a while on the shuttle bus to get me back home anyways.
The next thing we know, the commissary was surrounded by police, both American military police and German police. It looked like SWAT teams or something. They told everyone to walk calmly to an adjacent parking lot and to have our ID ready to show when we got there and they were in full force enough to make sure we followed directions. One policeman saw my struggles with my 3 preschoolers so he pulled me aside, checked my ID, wrote down my info, then let us go. This was just in time for us to catch the last shuttle bus of the day.
Friends of mine were not so lucky. Some people had to wait up to 2 hours before their ID was checked. Come to find out, the electricity went out because someone intentionally cut the main wires, indicating they might still be in the store. The next thing that happened is that someone used a phone in the store to call in a bomb threat to the MP (military police) headquarters. That’s why they made us go to an adjacent parking lot…far enough away in case the store did blow up…yet corralled until they could get a record of everyone who was in the store at the time.
We all had no choice but to leave our shopping carts behind. I had two very full carts as did many others. I felt so sorry for the employees who were gonna have to clean up after all this was over with. By the way, they never found a bomb or the one who cut the wires and made the threat. Between all the items that spoiled…like lots of melted ice cream on the floors from shopping carts…and around 2 1/2 hours of non-shopping time, the store lost almost 3 quarters of a million dollars.
I understand you asking people not to do this again. I used to work retail…in a clothing store, so there were no perishables, but it still was quite time-consuming having to clean up after all the customers who just threw clothing all over the racks and floors. What a lot of people don’t think about is that when a store loses money, they pass the cost along to the consumers. That means charging higher prices to make up for their losses. The commissary sure went up in prices…overnight!
quit bein a wuss….little panzy just cuz you have to do something that somewhat resembles work….do your job and shutup
there are many things i have done that i wont do again. like blow, for example.
