im starting to make a go cart and im going to get a go cart frame but want to use my 5.5hp lawnmower engine so i need to know how im gunna make it wor...



im starting to make a go cart and im going to get a go cart frame but want to use my 5.5hp lawnmower engine so i need to know how im gunna make it work. any ideas let me know.

    It is just a matter of using something to convert the the drive wheel ( I don’t if its a belt or chain) to a belt or chain that will drive the wheels.

    Simple as that. How is what makes it interesting. ;)

    Usally its a clutch at the end of the engine shaft, some use a belt and some have a sprocket at the end to use a chain. A torque converter kit works great so a 5.5 engine. I’ve built a couple of go carts in my day and they’re fun to do, I’ll post some sites to check out parts and stuff. Good luck
