how do i make my 4 stroke go cart faster?

i have a 5.5 hp briggs and strat go kart i have read some answers to this and some have said to use gearing some say bigger drive gear on tire othe...

i have a 5.5 hp briggs and strat go kart i have read some answers to this
and some have said to use gearing some say bigger drive gear on tire others say smaller which is it? it has a comet 11 tooth main clutch sprocket and i think a 60 tooth on the tire 6" tires( 4×3.5-6)

   Faster is a relative term, Do you mean you want a higher top end speed wise, or do you mean you want it to accelerate faster? So if you mean that you just want it faster put a smaller gear on the rear wheel (now you can only go so low until you begin lugging the engine down). If you want it to accelerate faster then add teeth to the sprocket on the rear wheel (of course if you get to big it will be bigger than the rear wheel).
