They’re governed to a speed (like 12-15mph) on flat ground but most electric carts have enough power to hit the governor with 1 or with 6 people on them. It won’t accelerate as fast with 6 people on it though.
Downhill is another story. Many electric carts will coast past their governed speed when going downhill. With 6 people on board, it will go much faster – depending on how big the hill possibly dangerously fast. Be very careful if you try a downhill run with an overloaded golf cart – they don’t stop or handle well at higher speeds!
How fast you say? That all depends on the weight those people are and how much power the battery can dish out.
Normally, a golf cart with 6 passengers won’t run very fast at all.
But good luck fitting 5 on a gulf cart. lol
