My husband backed into a shopping cart the other day and it hit a van and dented the back door. It was a small dent about the size of a golf ball and had no scratch or paint chip. The guy called today and decided he wants it fixed and I am just wondering how much it is going to cost us. Our insurance will cover it but then our premium will go up about 0.00 a year. I’m just wondering if it will be cheaper to pay for it on our own and not put an accident on our insurance. Any suggestions?

If the paint isn’t messed up any contact a paintless dent co. and get an estimate from them, I would stay away from any dent type pullers that you can buy in the stores as most of the time they don’t work.

19.97–at walmart they sell what used to be on a tv-infomercial–its called popsadent. its a really strong suction cup hooked to a handle, and one quick tug and the dent comes right out. i have one and i have popped out many dents. :)

You can get a paintless dent repair for around $100 on a dent that size. Just look for someone who does hail repair, they will be able to do it.

You would just have to get an appraisal. Remember, the repair would have to satisfy the guy and you will probably be amazed how much the repair will actually cost. Maybe he would just settle for a little money? Be sure to get his signature on a release. Or maybe no police were called and there are no other witnesses? Then it is his word against yours? See if he is willing to negotiate. Also, damage done by shopping carts in parking lots is generally the responsibility of the retail outlet owning the lot and the cart.
