If u had a jet engine with 300lbs of thrust…

...and u put it on a go cart frame, then added another jet engine with the same amount of thrust would it double the amount of thrust and speed? If so...

…and u put it on a go cart frame, then added another jet engine with the same amount of thrust would it double the amount of thrust and speed? If so could u add wings and an outer shell so it is aerodynamic and can fly around like an airplane, and no i do not want to buy one, nor do i want to buy an ultralight.

Cool idea. It will double the thrust but not speed. That sound fun. If you are able to get the engine, let me design the body for u.

Maybe, if it was built by a professional aircraft designer. That sounds like fun, but I don’t recommend trying it yourself! Your idea reminds me of the mini jet that’s in the Bond movie Octopussy.

Doubling the number of engines does not double the speed. There are certain laws of physics that prevent it.
And you can make a brick fly if you give it enough power and big enough wings.

  4. Doggzilla says:

Since drag is exponential, doubling the thrust would make it 1.4 times faster.

  5. Avrilfan says:

    1) Yes, two engines would double the thrust.
    2) Speed increase would be there, but perhaps more than double since the power to weight ratio would double, with the cart remaining the same size and weight. The increased drag, however, may impose a penalty on the maximum speed attainable.

On the rest of the answer, I have no comments.

It would double the amount of thrust but it would not double the speed. However, If its just you and a shopping cart and some wings, I think 300 pounds of thrust should be enough.

  7. eferrell01 says:

With 300 pounds thrust your go cart would probably fly without wings. The Coors Light jets use auxiliary generator turbine converted to thrust of only 200 pounds.

I agree with eferrel-but why complicate things with a go-cart and wings-just get a pair of asbestos pants and sneekers and go it a lone.

your talking like if they combined 2 GE90-115B’s into i huge engine(even thou the GE90 is HUGE alerady…) then.. i’d be a very happy 15 year old.
