i am making a small 3 wheeled craft using old bike frames, and bike tires. all told i’m expecting about a 120 pound cart, powered by front wheel drive (tadpole design – 2 wheels in front, one wheel steering in back). say a max of 200 lb rider (just to be safe)
i’d like to go electric. i wonder what would the optimum brushless dc motor be for this vehicle to reach speeds of around 50 mph? (what HP, what RPM rating… all the other electric stuff like amperage)
also, what would the best batteries be to operate this craft for around two hours? (i’m mostly looking for the electrical stuff. i’ll figure out what type of battery, but the electrical numbers and stuff are a little rough to figure)

When I was growing up my mom and granny weren’t like how they are today. I could walk through a small patch of woods to a friends house, walk all over the neighborhood ( was told to never talk to strangers, let them touch me or get near their vehicle) If I fell down and skint my knee, I would just wash it ,put a bandage on and get back outside. Then when I became a teen they started to get a bit overbearing, suddenly it was no friends over to the house,no going to other houses or churches. Then as an adult it was no opening the doors unless one of us is watching (first floor houses) no going outside at night. I’m 29 years old and I can’t even go out of my bedroom without granny standing there, use the bathroom without granny telling me what to do when I get out or even take out the trash without granny watching me.If I cook a microwave dinner she stands in the kitchen watching me. If I turn my bedroom light on after 8 pm she’ll open my door crying saying "are you ok? Why is your lights on" I mean she really does cry. As for mom, when we go grocery shopping she’ll scream my name out loud if I walk out of eye sight (even to the next aisle). It’s embarrassing
If I put something in the cart, granny will look at it and put it back and won’t say why. If I do buy something to eat, she’ll try to eat it then complain about it being too salty, hard or sugary (she has no teeth) If I spend more than 2 minutes in the bathroom, they’ll open the door. If I’m on my cell, they’ll stand there wanting to know who I’m talking to and want to talk to them. They act like they can’t even do simple stuff like put batteries in the remote .If I take out the trash they want to watch me walk to the end of the drive and talk to them on a cell phone . None of us have any mental problems or disabilities in any sense so how does one deal with helicopter parents in adulthood? btw, I’m 29, they get worst as I get older too
They never did this to my other siblings and as for the moving out I really can’t afford to move out I don’t make that much money.
I don’t exactly want to work longer hours for more money nor do I want to get married just to get out.

my golf cart is a yamaha. it is in GREAT condition but is prob a 1998 model. it was rarely used before i got it. the batteries were never used but were 09. when i first got the golf cart it went around 7 MPH now it goes 5. what should i do ?! i want it to go 15!! new engine…? please help and if possible attach what to get and where to get it thanks!!
10 points THANKS!
ITS ELECTRIC… AND I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING THE GOLF CART NEVER WENT FAST SINCE DAY ONE SO I DONT THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THAT JUST NEEDS A FASTER MORE POWERFUL ENGINE!
ANYWAY IF U STOP AT A STOP SIGN THEN PRESS THE GAS PEDAL IT LIKE LEAPS AND INCH FOWARD THEN CONTINUES AT 5 MILES PER HOUR THERE IS LIKE NO POWER AT ALL!

Where and how can I recycle paper/plactic and glass bottles/batteries/ milk and juice cartons in the Netherlands? I am going to live in a student room/apartment.
And how much does it generally cost to deposit a shopping cart? Do I have to prepare the change beforehand?
I read a few on wikipedia so please, dont provide me a link there.
Thanks for answering.

I think when it comes to electric powered vehicles, we have the wrong idea: that we need them as big and powerful as a Chevy Suburban. Nonsense, we need safe, light efficient vehicles that can get us from place to place at the least cost. Electric cars we need now would be little more than glorified golf carts—heck, I’d drive one instead of paying the current 25-cents/mile via internal cumbustion. So does anyone make a scooter that could be used in lieu of a second family car for light errands? Forget fancy schmancy batteries. I want one now and would be willing to use batteries we have now.

I’ve had this electric golf cart for 4 years now. This spring I went to the campground to pull it out of my shed. The batteries were low charged as expected. Even when its low charged, it always would move every spring. This time we had to push it. I plugged it in for a few days and when I went back it had fully charged up. I thought great!! I went to move it but it still didn’t move. The motor seems to be fine and sounds like its working but the cart wheels aren’t moving. All it does is shake like it wants to move. Any suggestions on where to look for the problem would be great. Since I live in a rural area, I have to fix it myself. Thanks !!
The parking brake was not on for the winter. It was in neutral with wood blocks put behind the wheels.

I have an electric go-cart I use for school projects. (I teach Physics.) We’re showing it off at an Earth Day Festival next month but have a problem. It only works for about 3 hours and then the batteries die. I’m considering buying a second set of batteries and having them charged and ready to replace the used ones or I’d prefer to buy batteries that would last the entire 6 hours. Right now the go-cart is using 4 batteries connected in parallel. The batteries are each 12 Volts and 33 AH. However, the manufacturer suggests 12 Volts and 35 AH. My question is, can I use 12 Volts and a much higher AH rating to get longer use? Would that blow the capacitor? What would be the highest rating without hurting any of the electrical parts? Any other suggestions for improving time of use would also be helpful.

heres what happened, i used it all weekend and when i was puting it away up some ramps into the back of the truck it would not climb, the angle was to much. so i got off of the cart and used my hand on the throttle and it started to go, once it got to the top it just kind of stoped and sarted to fall back, when it got to the bottom i tried it again but it would not move anymore, the batteries are new and fully charged and i checked all of the wires and i have power coming to all of the wires, the rod that is attached to the gas pedal haspower to two of the four wires, one other thing is i think that i smelled somthing burning from the controller, it is a 1999 ezgo and has a controller that says RUN and TOW MAINTENCE. any ideas from you guys. thks

Whatever is between the batteries and the motor gets hot from time to time. I spray WD40 on contacts and pedal linkage and this seems to help. ?

It’s about 15-20 years old, but it has new replaced batteries. I drive it on a paved surface, pretty flat. I’m not sure of its voltage.
