I keep going back and fourth if I should just get a conv car seat rather than one of the infant carriers. My son was only in his carrier for five months before I got a convertible one. Part of me thinks it’s a waste but then I think of how convenient it was when we’d go anywhere to just plop the car seat into the stroller or shopping cart. I can’t make up my mind! If you skipped the infant carrier, are you glad you did?

when is it ok for my son to sit in a shopping cart with out his car seat and sit in his stroller?

Ok so my son is going to be 8 months old this sunday… He can crawl, sit by himself and roll over by himself. He already needs a new car seat because his old one which was supposed to go up to a year he is too big for… the new one wont be able to fit into a shopping cart, isn’t made for it and isn’t made to sit in the stroller like the other one…

So is it time for him to move on and finally sit in the stroller and sit in the shopping cart?

Btw he just starting sitting by himself for about a week… and I mean he gets up by himself not that we put him like that and he is able to stay like that.

Thanks…
Thanks, I will probably buy one of those cart covers soon also.

How do you go grocery shopping alone with 3 month old baby?

Surely someone has come up with a good solution to this by now. I can’t put her car seat in the buggy because there would be no room for the food, she gets in the way of everything when she is in her baby sling, no grocery stores around me have infant seats in their carts. Her daddy usually does the shopping, but he has been working a lot lately due to cut backs in his office. Please help, I’m hungry! Can’t eat fast food all the time…

3 mo old baby in car seat in shopping cart??

I have a 3 month old daughter that goes everywhere in her car seat. We’ve only been "shopping" to the Target where the carts are newer and our Graco actually snaps into the child’s seat perfectly. Is this ok to do this procedure for the regular carts too at grocery stores/walmart where the buggys child seat is smaller? Do we bring the stroller or what?

When did you put your baby in the little seat in the shopping cart?

Just curious. My son is 8 months and I want to put him in it but am afraid he will just try to chew on the handlebar (yuck!). I hate putting the car seat on the cart as well because I know it isn’t the safest and also the car seat I have is tall (and I am short) and I cant really see where I am going when I push it around. I have to look around the side of it to see where I am going and even with that I have run into many displays/people/other carts. Ya, it is embarrassing. So when did you let them sit in that little seat? Thanks!

What do you do with the grocery cart?

I went shopping yesterday and brought my kiddos with me. 2 year old twins and a 4 month old. I used a double seated cart and for safety reasons so I could be fast on my feet I kept my son in his car seat but put him down inside the basket (where the goods usually go… all I needed was sunglasses and life jackets for my toddlers). He was actually happier that way then he is when I wear him.

So here is my question. I parked as close to the entrance as I could without being far from the cart corral. I had to run to the front of the store to get the double cart and rather than try to dangerously herd my crew through a busy parking lot I left them in my van for less than a minute to get the cart while the van was in my sight.

I also had to leave them in the van at the end of the trip to put the cart away.

I heard of a woman getting arrested for leaving her baby in the car to buy some cub scout popcorn or something like that. She was a few yards away from the vehicle and it was locked and running with the AC on. She must have had keyless entry.

So my question is to people who say they would never leave their child unattended in the car- even for a moment- what do you do about the grocery cart? Do you just leave it next to your car in the parking lot and drive off? I can see if you have one kid and you can carry them through the parking lot while you return the cart but I have 3 little ones.

What do you think someone should do in my situation?
I could wear my baby and hold my toddlers hands…

But how do I push the cart?

They really need to invent extra arms or something. :-p
