Hey All…
Well earlier today i was at the grocery store with my almost 9 week old baby, & my mom. Well guess what happened!?!? Some guy just grabbed my daughter out of her car-seat!! I had turned around becouse i was talking to my best-friend’s mom she had asked me how my new school was going ( I go to a school for teen-parents), I had my hand on the cart, & the cart was right next to me ( Emma was in her car-seat in the cart). Well some guy just comes up & grabs Emma out of her car-seat! I turn around really fast becouse i had felt the cart move & there he was just holding her! I start yelling at him ( I normaly am a very nice person but this made me mad), & tell him to give me my daughter right now & he has the nerve to ask what he did wrong! So my best-friend’s mom goes up & takes Emma from he’s arms. I told the guy he better leave right now, before I call the cop’s on him. Has this happened to you before? What did you do? Do you think I over-reacted?
I wasn’t really thinking, now that i think about it i should have called the cops, but at that moment i just wanted the guy to get far away from me.
I don’t know what he was planning on doing he was still standing right by the cart & he was an old-looking man so maybe he thought it was okay? I don’t know, i should have called the cops i know but at that moment i just wanted the guy to get far,far away from me.

I wish I'd had the nerve to tell her off!?

When my son was little, about 3 I think, I had to pick him up from my mom’s house after work, then I had to run a few errands, one of which was stop by the grocery store. Back then (in the mid to late 90′s) they just started coming out with those grocery carts with the built on car seats. Well my son was tired, and cranky, and didn’t want to walk. I thought that if I put him in one of those seats that he would possibly go to sleep (as he always fell asleep in his own car seat) so I asked a clerk that worked there if they had any of those carts with the seats. She said, I guess they’re all taken, look around for one. Why do you want to put him in one anyway, he’s too big for a car seat! Real snotty like. Excuse me, but at three aren’t they still in a booster car seat in the car? It wasn’t any of her business anyways why I wanted to put him in one. It’s not like he was 10-he was 3!! Why can’t people mind their own business? I don’t remember what I told her.
what’s a situation where you wish you had told the person off but didn’t?

I have heard of coupons that when used, the store ends up giving you money. Any ideas of the website used?

I heard of this from my friends mom. She claimed to have printed coupons from the internet and when she went shopping, she bought the items for the coupons she had. Anyways, after using the coupons for the order, the grocery store actually had to give her a dollar, meaning she left the store with a cart full of groceries and more than she went in with. Any ideas where to find these coupons?

What's more important health care or food?

Most of us can live months or years without seeing a doctor whereas only about 20 or so days without food. So, what would happen if we modeled the food industry after the grocery industry:

You had to go to school for 8-20 years to be able to open a grocery store.
There are no prices on anything. You put whatever you want in your cart and walk out.
You pay your "food insurer" a monthly premium of .
5 months later you get a bill showing that you owe an additional for that visit.
You still have no idea what anything costs.
When you try to buy less expensive things, you ask your grocer. He doesn’t have a clue what things cost and can’t tell you the cost of anything.
We all blame the "free market" for what’s gone wrong and insist that the government create more red tape, more regulations, more oversight, and that the government feed everyone for "free" because the private sector just isn’t savvy enough to handle the complicated food distribution business.

Isn’t the reasonable answer for the government to get the h*** out of health care all together???

Is it legal to put an infant seat in a street legal golf cart?

I do not have a car and want to avoid property tax, registration, and inspection stickers that come with a car. I only would need to go short distances such as a mile to the grocery store, a forth of a mile to my stepdaughters school and maybe even 3 miles to the nearest walmart. My baby is only 5 months old and would need to come with me. Is it legal to put her seat in the cart so she can come along? Also can my 5 year old ride in the cart too?
I have nothing against walking in fact that’s how I normally get around. I just think one of those fancy golf carts with a/c and windows and such would keep us all nice and dry from the rain and have a little room to put my groceries in.

What do you think of my mini-story? It's short, I promise. I just want some opinions!?

This is something cute I wrote today. Nothing too serious or too deep. Tell me what you think!

Lea met David at the grocery store. David watched Lea speed down the aisles on a shopping cart. Lea fought with David over the last box of hot chocolate. David gave up. Lea won. They ate pizza together a week later. And they also watched The Hangover on DVD. They hung out for months afterwards. Lea has a germ phobia, but shares her dessert with David every time. David lets her sleep on the bed. He sleeps on the couch. It’s not very comfortable. Lea wears pink-tinted chapstick. David doesn’t particularly like pink-tinted chapstick. Lea doesn’t care. Lea likes David. And David likes Lea.

This year, Lea is taking a break from David. David is taking a break from Lea. He can’t stand her messiness. Lea can’t stand his attitude. Lea’s drawer at David’s apartment is empty, except for a sock. Since he can’t find the other one, David throws away the sock. But he changes his mind and puts it back. While Lea unpacks her suitcase at her mom’s house, she finds a single gray sock. She doesn’t know what to do with it. So she kicks it under the bed.

Every morning, David makes coffee for himself. He watches his neighbors walk their dog, a cocker spaniel. David hates dogs. But he likes mornings and especially morning walks. Lea never wanted to walk with him in the morning. Today, David goes for a run. Tonight, David is going to a bar with his friends. Life is good again.

Lea never liked laundry. David would always do it for her. Today, Lea’s favorite white dress turned pink. Lea kicks the dryer. She dials her sister and they go out for shopping. Lea’s sister is getting married. Lea informs her sister she hates men. Lea’s sister assures her that there are still good ones out there. You just have to look for them.

It’s winter again. David went to the grocery store today. He found himself buying a box of hot chocolate. David misses Lea. A lot.

Earlier, Lea kissed a boy. She likes this boy. He tells her she’s beautiful. He lets her sit on his lap. He makes waffles for her, out of the blue. She doesn’t even need to ask him to do nice things for her. This boy likes Lea very much. Lea still misses David. But not as much as before.

David calls Lea. One ring. Two rings. Three rings. Four rings. No answer. He sighs. Lea arrives at David’s apartment during the night. She is drunk. He is drunk. She confesses her feelings to him. He reciprocates, earnestly. She pushes him against the wall. He traces the lining of her waist with his finger. She is familiar to him. He is familiar to her. They are familiar. She takes him to the couch. Lea and David sleep together.

The next day, Lea apologizes to David. David takes her hand and pleads for her. She slips it out of his hold. She has a boyfriend now. David can’t bring himself to watch her walk away. He ignores his phone calls. He skips a few meals, now and then. But he never, ever gives up his morning walks.

Lea cries on the way home. She sobs until her throat burns. She can’t understand herself. Lea just doesn’t know anymore. She just doesn’t know.

David moves across the country for a job promotion. Lea stays at home. They don’t see or speak to each other again. They find closure in their own ways, but not quite. David has a hole in his heart, but he understands. He is getting better. Lea also has a hole in her heart, but she understands, too. They are not exactly happy, but they are moving on with their lives, without each other. And that is okay.

Parents. Do you spank your kids?

This is a confidential forum. You can answer honestly. I saw a kid misbehaving really badly in the grocery store. He was about three and he needed a whack on the seat of his pants. My son told me if his mother had done that she would have been arrested. That he saw a similar thing happened in the grocery store and by the time the lady got her cart and kid to her car the cops were waiting to arrest her. She went to jail and the kid went to Childrens Services all the while screaming "mommy mommy!" Have we as a society taken too many freedoms from ourselves. We follow the teachings of Dr. Spock, but remember, his son committed suicide. So maybe he didn’t know what he was talking about when he taught spare the rod for the sake of the child’s self esteem. What do you think?

Have you ever wondered why you see adults working minimum wage jobs?

We all have at one time worked minimum wage jobs when we were teenagers. Minimum wage jobs are something you do when you’re in high school … maybe college, and in less common ways in graduate school. Then you move on and do something more productive. There is nothing I find more self satisfying than seeing the 32 year old pizza guy delivering pizza to my house. I just absolutely love it! In this country, everybody has at least the opportunity to go to a community college, and it isn’t that difficult to go to a state university, if you choose to do that. So anybody who is 32 and is asking me if I want paper or plastic … At one time we drank milk from our mommy’s baba, but eventually you put the baba down and drink from a cup. If somebody is 32 and still drinking out of a baba, then you got a problem. People get mad at me when I bag on those who work low run jobs. Have I worked at a Carvel Ice Cream store? Yes I have. Was I a telephone solicitor and did I sell bottom of the barrel stuff? Yes I have. Did I work as a cashier at a grocery store as I was a kid going to college? Yes I did. Did I deliver newspapers? Yes I did. Did I sell advertising in lousy community newspapers over the telephone and make minimum conditions. Yes, but I did these things while I was working my way towards something better. I am not coming over to wax your car today. I don’t do detailing. I’m not coming over to your place to deliver pizza. I’m not going to bring groceries to your car. Ok.

Here’s a rewarding career. Here’s someone who knocked up his girl friend, and you know who I’m talking about. The guy who stands at the exit at Costco with the yellow high lighting pen. And he looks … of course you got 6 worth of stuff in the cart … and he gives this cursory glace to your cart … you can’t see everything that’s in the cart. Then he takes that yellow marker and runs it through the receipt, so you can’t try going through the exist again. That’s very rewarding work. *sarcasim* I just want to know the name of your bastard child and where the mother lives. When I see that guy, I’m sorry, but I can’t help thinking about that.

Ya know, when I’m in a fast food joint and I’m deciding whether I want pastrami on my burger or cheese steak. I’m sorry, but I can’t help thinking, "what time does the baby sitter have to go home tonight?" I’m sorry, but I can’t help thinking it.

When I go in for a .99 oil change, and there you are draining all the transmission fluid out of my car. I’m sorry, but I can’t help thinking, "does this place actually have a retirement plan?"It’s just the way it is.

Ya know, we all start at ground zero. Most of us start with very little. Some of us with nothing. We all have the same public school systems. And we have community colleges. We have state universities. We have opportunities to do things with our lives. We also have the opportunities to use condoms, to not have sex with trailer trash that’s gonna get knocked up. We have opportunites. We have decisions to make during our lives. Yes I think it’s perfectly fantastic when you’re a senior in high school and working as a cashier at Costco. I think that’s great. When you’re 16, 17, or 18 … that’s great. But when I read these stories in the newspaper about people working at Albertsons the supermarket, talking about going on strike, and you got interviews with 38 year old people who are cashiers … I’m laughing my butt off at you. I’m laughing my butt off. I’m sorry, I know it’s politically incorrect to say this, because you’re suppose to say that everyone is equal, everything is beautiful in it’s own way, you’re suppose to say these things, right? And every job is good and great to have hard working Americans … that’s what you’re suppose to say. But the reality is that some of you guys just decided to ride bear back when you were 16 and now you’re stuck going on strike at Albertsons or where ever you’re going on strike. You kidding me?

What happened to morals, values, courtesy and integrity?

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is having a wonderful morning. :)

I have no doubt I will receive flames and obnoxious answers, lol..but I’m ready for that! ;)

My question as stated above has been weighing on my mind for quite some time now. After reading quite a few of the questions posted here, and observing people in public, in the news, etc…my wonderment increases. I’m just wondering where so many peoples’ values, morals and integrity went? Was there some sort of sonic boom that erased all these things from the fiber of an ever-growing majority?

COURTESIES: 1)My husband opens my car door for me…and I get strange looks from people. I even had one **woman** ask me if I was handicapped. lol I thought this was supposed to be a common courtesy and sign of love from a husband to his wife? I am not pointing fingers at *all* people, but very rarely do I hear "excuse me" or "pardon me" if someone decides to run me over with a shopping cart in the grocery store! It’s rare for me to even hear ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ anymore.

CLOTHING:
What is with parents these days letting their children run rampant through the city half-naked? Or with vulgar logos on their clothing? Or with their pants hanging down to their thighs, showing their ‘undergarments’?? Some may say ‘well kids can change clothes after they leave the house’, etc—-I don’t buy that excuse. Unless a child is 16 and has a job—their parents are financing their clothing purchases. And, most **children** do not frequent clothing stores unless accompanied by an adult.

Teenagers are backtalking their parents in public places *all the time*. I heard a boy (couldn’t have been over 12) tell his mother to "shut up" a couple of days ago in the Hallmark store. I marched right up to him (to be honest) and told him that when I was his age, I wouldn’t DREAM of speaking to my parents in such a disrespectful manner! His mother tearfully thanked me….and the boy just sort of rolled his eyes and shrugged. Whatever happened to "Honor thy father and mother"?

People used to wave at each other on the streets (at least where I am from they did). These days, you wave at someone and they look at you suspiciously like you’re up to something. You ask someone how their day is going, and they think you want something. What happened to "Love thy neighbor as thyself"??

Maybe I’m living in the dark ages….? LOL All I know is that I am seeing morals and values less and less in this day and age and it **floors** me the way some people treat other human beings. Degrading them, instead of showing compassion and sincerity.

Anyone else care to share your thoughts on this? What happened to people? lol
**Updating**
If I come across as being judgmental I apologize. Perhaps I am being a bit judgmental, but more than anything else I’m truly curious as to what happened, and when. I’m not trying to ‘throw the first stone’ or ‘pick at slivers instead of the beam in my own eye’…….honestly. I have faults of my own of which there are MANY. hehehe….but treating others with respect and dignity isn’t one of those faults. I’m really just baffled by society today.

Physics Questions Regarding Application of Newton's Second Law?

A toy rocket of mass 50 grams can accelerate horizontally with an acceleration of 29.8 m/sec2. The rocket engine operates for 3 seconds before burnout, and provides constant thrust (force) during its burn. Assuming negligible air friction, how high will it go when fired straight up?

Mother of 6 kids pulls two carts of groceries connected by a rope through the grocery store. The first cart is full and has a mass of 60.2 kg and the second cart is full of potato chips and weighs 125 Newtons. She is late for piano lessons so she runs through the store exerting a force of 90 Newtons on the carts. What is the tension in the rope?

At lift off, the three main engines and the two booster rockets of the 4.5X106 lb space shuttle produced 6.4X106 lbs of thrust vertically downward. What was the acceleration at liftoff and assuming the acceleration remains constant how long did it take the shuttle to rise through its own height of 184 ft?

Questions are just for fun, not graded, just curious to see what you get

Please give me numbers, as well as procedure. Answer what you can.

Why are people so rude at the grocery store- especially to kids???

Seriously… today I HAD to go to the grocery store… no cat food, out of formula, etc… I usually do not take all 4 of my kids with me, but it’s Spring Break so off we go.
My kids were (surprisingly) well behaved for the most part… and the store was pretty busy.
I do not think grown-ups look out for little ones like they should. My 5 yr old got hit with a little old lady’s cart and she gave me the evil eye (he was seriously a foot to the left of me.) She did not ask if he was ok, she did not stop… just kept on walking while shooting me the look of death! In the milk aisle, my 7 year old grabbed a gallon of milk for me while I went for the creamer… she must have been in some man’s way because he hufffed and puffed around her like she was doing something wrong.
In general, this type of thing really ticks me off and I have been known to say something if it’s bad enough… any suggestions?
It is so hard to explain to kids why adults can be so rude!

Do I have an emotional problem?

I was working as a bag boy at grocery store when a mother came up with her cart and her practically newborn child in the seat and unloaded the food, etc. I started to bag the stuff when she unhinged something on the cart seat and clamped the babies fingers between some metal, causing it to bleed a bit and purple. She scolded the BABY and, annoyed, continued to unload the cart while the baby was SCREAMING. As the baby screamed and shook, tears running down his cheeks, everyone continued with what they were doing, maybe glanced at the baby, then went back to their business.
I immediately became infuriated, and literally threw what ever I was bagging to the side and went to the bathroom. I got really hot and dizzy, and then i vomited in the toilet.

Thankfully, I still have my job.

Point is, is this a normal reaction? Sounds a little over the top, but I don’t know..
Just give me your opinion.

I was abused so horribly, how can I go on?

I like to wear a elaborate Jar Jar Binks costume and mask as part of my every day life. I went to the grocery store, and saw how depressed everyone was so I thought I would help. I started dancing in the aisles, and yelling at people, and running up to people and taking things out of their cart. It was great fun. Then when I went to check out, there was only one lane open and a long line. I screamed and screamed while in line and danced, bumping into other people. I opened a box of baking soda and threw it around. Finally I got to the checkout. I started making noises at the cashier, and I kept pressing buttons on the computer. Some people in line were groaning because the line was getting very long, but that gave me even more incentive to make them laugh. I climbed onto the table and started kicking peoples groceries on the floor and singing. The manager and one of his goons pulled me off and said I could never shop there again. Can I sue for harrasement or possibly assualt?

How can i make bagging groceries more fun?

I work part-time at a grocery store and usually just bag groceries for 6 hour shifts. I’ll also have to sometimes get carts and do other small tasks. How can I make this more fun, or make the time go by faster?

Have you ever shoplifted unintentionally?

Tonight at the grocery store I had a movie with the rest of the stuff I bought, I put it on the seat of the cart and I didn’t even notice it when I was putting stuff on the conveyor belt at the register. Completely forgot, paid for the rest of my stuff and walked out. I was loading the car and noticed it. An alarm didn’t go off or anything.

Anyone else do something like this?

Why is it when i go to the gym people fight for the closest parking spot so they dont have to walk so far?

I know when u are at the grocery store u want the closest parking spot to the building so u dont have to push ur grocery cart or drag ur kids so far. But why when i went to the gym today did i see a bunch of people racing for the closest parking spot when there were a ton of them out towards the back. they dont want to walk so far, then why do they then go into the gym and start using the treadmill for half an hour?
why the thumbs down? i thought they were good answers. funny thing is, im in ohio so its pretty cold, however this was at 10am, and it was a very nice day compared to the ones weve had lately. no rain, clear skies. ud think people would want to take advantage of that, huh?

R they really going to pass 700b bailout to help the rich not go to the poor house?

G. Bush and friends want this bailout to go through to save themselves from going to the poor house. Most of their assets r invested in wall street. If the Market does crash it will be another 1929 crash where alot of them lost everything and jumped out of their office window to their death or shot themselves.

The democrats and republicans r working together to work this out beacuse of the fact above. thye don’t want to live like us. Mc Cain, I call him Mr. Magoo, Has 7 houses and 13 cars. That’s 2 cars for every house. I give him my outmost respect for being a Vet and all that, but how the hell did he get all that money to buy that stuff. From us ofcourse-tax payers money.

Most poeple in this country, especially the minorities and the poor don’t pay attention to this. They don’t even watch the News or know what’s going on. This is the part the gets me. Last week 500.00 got taken out of my paycheck so that some of them can stay home with 5 kids and play Nintendo all day. I work hard all day like most Americans and at the end of the week we have nothing. I wish I could buy my daughter a wii station. I wish I could go to the grocery store and jam pack the shopping cart like I see alot of these poeple who stay home all day do.

If The System-if this does go through, there really really really is a System where the rich feeds of the poor- passes this I will be dumbfounded.

If it does go through we all have a right to call our state representative and tell them to pay all our debts. We are basically paying for G Bush mess. We r going to have more money taken off our taxes on top of what is being taken to put it in their pockets…. the s H i t that gets me also is that the they will also get the money that is in debt to go to their pockets.

Call your st rep and tell them to pay your debts also when this passes.

I need help choosing a stroller/car seat…?

Okay, so I’m a first time mom (33 weeks with #1) and I admit I haven’t done a whole lot of research on strollers and carseats (bad mommy already). I basically relied on my sister-in-law who did all the research a year ago when she was expecting her first and I followed her recommendation and registered for a Travel System that includes the heavy-duty stroller, car seat, and car seat base. Thankfully, I didn’t receive this item yesterday at my shower because I’m having doubts. Another friend who has a 6 month-old was telling me that she just uses a "frame" stroller (that may not actually be the name of it) and pops her car seat right in there, she loves the smaller size and the convenience of what she chose. So now I’m confused and would love advice from mommies who have been here and know what I’m talking about. Which stroller and car seat did you choose? I’m concerned about choosing a car seat that will last for the longest amount of time (the one I chose accomodates up to I think 24 lbs but there are others that go up to 30lbs?) and I also would appreciate a seat that fits into a cart at the grocery store and I don’t think the one I chose does. Any and all advice would be GREATLY appreciated by this overwhelmed, under-researched mommy-to-be who doesn’t have a clue!!! :)

My husband is Air Force and has to go to Kunsan AFB, Korea for a year….help!?

I always knew there was a possibility he would have to go somewhere, but iwe have a 3 year old, 2 year old, 1 year old, and I am due to have a baby in June. He leaves in july, I have no family to run home to like most women, no one at this base to help me, and no programs here to help me out, I already called the chaplain and family support center. I don’t know how I am going to go to the grocery store when 3 of my kids have to be in a cart, or to the dr office (I have to go once a month for a medical condition). The child care providers on my base can NOT be trusted and our CDC is always full. What am I supposed to do? Whoever said the Air Force is family-friendly is full of crap, they don’t care if we make it ok or not. Sorry but I am sick of these people who claim the Air Force is so great for families. my husband didn’t volunteer for this and I am afraid after a year of not having to take care of me or kids, he won’t want to come back to us! How do I get him out of this!!!???
In response to an answer that was given, I guess I do live in a "vacuum" I just moved here you jerk, and just because you don’t cARE about what your wife had to deal with doesn’t mean that my situation is easy. It is people like you at this base that make the military SUCK!
And also I wouldn’t have three kids if the military properly trained their medical personell, I got pregnant TWICE on the IUD because and Air Force doctor put them in wrong. Why are you all such a$$’s?

Grocers: Do you think the current Dannon Lite & Fit ad with fem SCARFING product in aisle sends BAD MESSAGE?

Dannon Yogurt has a TV ad for it’s "Lite & Fit" single serve yogurt product, showing a young-looking blonde female shopping with a cart in the grocery store. When she happens by some Lite & Fit yogurt, she can’t help herself, opens it, and immediately SCARFS IT ALL DOWN….then looks around to see if anyone saw her as she smiles a slightly guilty but devilish smile.

It’s called PILFERAGE…also known as STEALING. And while it may be fun or even funny to the kids and even adults who do it (as this ad promotes), it is very expensive to grocers and ultimately every shopper in the form of higher prices on everything to make up for what was stolen.

What is shocking about this Dannon ad is how they make this young blonde shopper look so cute and appealing…as if this little trick were something eveyone should do if they’ve never tried it before, i.e. eating groceries in the grocery store aisle before you’ve bought them. The Dannon people COULD have included a quick clip at the end, showing the blonde paying for the empty yogurt pack at check-out — but NOOOOOO!!! That would be TOO RESPONSIBLE, now wouldn’t it?

You don’t have to be a grocer or grocery store employee to respond to this question in that pilferage affects everyone. And in these days of rising food prices, this is one unacceptable behavior that CAN be reduced if everyone gets with the program. Why does Dannon feel it operates outside the normal range of legally acceptable behavior in promoting, in essense, shop lifting?

Did you catch this particular point when you saw this ad? And did it bother you even a bit? And how many kids now are going to copy cat this behavior, their now seeing even an ADULT scarfing down food or quick eats at the grocery store?
To Responder "Do Not Buy a Kia": Your charge for me to not be supposedly cynical of Dannon Yogurt (and I’m not) is humorously ironic, given your VERY NAME here on Yahoo! Answers which charges people to not buy a particular brand of car. In your support of pilfirage at the grocery store just because so many others do it, you basicly support shop lifting and don’t care that you yourself pay for it in terms of higher prices. Or did you think it through quite that far?

Worried about getting a job? Should I get one?

I’m 16 years old and I turn 17 in 2 months. I dropped out of high school this last fall (i was only in 9th grade) because of social anxiety. My anxiety is still going away but I still have problems with negative thinking a little and over analyzing things way too much. This fall i’m going to go to adult ed to study and get my GED. I was thinking about getting a full time job at a grocery store pushing carts in or working stocking shelfs until I get my GED. You know, just so I can save up some money so when I turn 18, I can buy my own car or just help my parents out. They arent exactly rich and are on social security.

My problem is about getting a job is that, I worry about "how do I clock in and clock out, in winter, where do I put my jacket at working in the winter, should i really get this job, what I get bored pushing carts all day." I worry about everything possible about a job. Its all the little details too that I pay attention too! It drives me crazy!
I don’t think its OCD. I have completely no life experiences and have NEVER had a job before. I realize that people get jobs to support themselves.

After I get my GED, I plan on going to college and taking up a automotive course, probably either Automotive Technology or collision repair since I love cars and love messing around with them. I’m a very smart person, I just dropped out of school so soon and i’m so young with no experience. I worry about "if I got this job, how would I interact with other people" and "will people make fun of me being so young and working full time doing a sucky job?" all that it drives me crazy. My parents say i’m way too smart for my age and way too mature. Even people think I look 19 years old.
Basically i’m so confused. I cant even distract my mind from this. I constantly am thinking about getting a full time job. I really want a car when I turn 18. If I dont get a job soon, I’ll probably be relying on my parents to drive me around or me using their car. I worry about every little single thing! Like I said, I plan on working and saving up money and buying a car so when I turn 18 I can get my permit and also have a car. I would probably have my GED by then if I really study and put my mind to it. Then hopefully be in college before I turn 19.
How can I stop this? Is work like a big thing people make it out to be? Or once you start a job, is like it like a normal task for you and it doesnt seem important that your making money?

People always talk about working and jobs. Even at school they constantly talked about working and jobs. It seems like their hyping it up so much. I know people that work and dont even think nothing of it.

Is this paragraph stupid?

It’s the intro to a process analysis essay for AP English. All the other kids are doing stuff like "How to Bake Brownies" and "How to Write a Process Analysis Essay", so I wanted to do something different (How to Wreak Havoc In the Public). Basically, my teacher hates kids who act wild and rowdy in grocery stores, so I’m writing this essay as a letter from rebellious children to innocent children, instructing them in how to irritate adults, but now it seems stupid… Your opinion, please? Thanks :)

Dear Child,
Whilst clutching your mother’s cart in the grocery store, trotting humbly alongside her frozen peas and boxes of Cheerios, gazing about innocently at the aisles of canned soup and packaged bread, did your eyes ever fall upon a loose boy your own age, darting wildly between ruffled shoppers and crashing into their precious carts? Have you never wondered about that plucky little girl with the uncombed hair and bare feet, who snatches one too many cookies from the kiddy basket? Perhaps your mother told you they were naughty children, that their mommies and daddies didn’t raise them right, that they’ll be going nowhere when they grow up. However, what she didn’t tell you is that those kids have taken up a laudable mantle: irritating beyond measure the boring, supercilious adult population. Only in this way can you bright and youthful creatures gain a slight advantage over your domineering counterparts. It is the task of the old to set the rules, and the task of the young to defy them all. And so, child, we urge you to acknowledge your duty, and go forth determined to wreak havoc in the quiet libraries and spacious Target superstores of the adult realm.

Does a store owner have the right to kick a customer out?

I went to a grocery store and purchased 6.87 worth of items.

The cashier thought the credit card machine was not working, therefore, swiping my card 3 times.

I look at my bank statement online the following day, and it shows 4 total debits of 6.87. This means my grocery cart cost me 0.61, plus the 6.87 that is rightfully theirs.

I take my statement to the manager, and the manager refuses to credit my account until a huge fuss is made.

This is the cheapest place to purchase groceries, so I went the following week and well…. the manager came up to me in public and told me "Excuse me, management would prefer if you did not shop here anymore. Please exit now. Thank you."

Being ripped off and being humiliated in public, and being thrown out of a store when I did nothing wrong –

do I have any legal defense?

Does the store owner have the right to do this?

I did get my money back after speaking to the manager the first time; however, after rightfully returning my money, he in turn kicked me out.
Actually, no hissy fit was thrown. Argument only took place when I went back to get the charges back onto my account only because the bank would have taken over a month to investigate into the situation, and that money was set aside to go into a CD, so I had needed it right away. The bank was going to waste time, so I took matters into my own hands.

I did not throw a hissy fit when I was asked to leave. I left my cart as is, and said "Suite yourself."

And the only reason I really want to go back is because normally a cart-full of groceries would run me over 0. It’s the cheapest place in town.
Actually, there is nothing I am leaving out of the story. I showed the manager my statement and he said "Not my problem."
The same thing happened to a friend of mine. She went to taco bell and multiple charges of "" were debited from her account on the same day. It took over 3 months of investigation to have her money returned to her although it is painfully obvious it was a fruadulant charge.
