I’m reading a book on setting up a business from home, which said that even a small website will cost 1000s of dollars up front, but why? I have estimated that the total cost of my website is about 0 since I have bought a web site template with a shopping cart that I have customised myself, and I’m going to go with inmotion hosting which costs about per month to host an ecommerce site. So the total cost is approximately 0. A merchant ID will take a small fee from every product I sell online and I will probably try and increase my market exposure through Amazon and Ebay. For my first year of trading I have set the goal of selling a 1000 units. So why is it going to be so expensive? What are the hidden costs?

Does anyone know how you make a page where people can buy a password or membership in order to view certain pages or content?
Namely, does anyone know how to do with when you already own the site domain (through go daddy.com)
I looked at their shopping cart thing but it’s realyl expensive.

Let me adduce some more background facts. I am an immigrant from a European country and my skin color is white. I’ve lived in the U.S for less than 7 years and I recently moved into a predominantly black area after having lived in white suburbs. The incident happened at my local Walmart where I was almost assaulted by a mid-aged black man (slightly taller than me, ordinary build). I returned to my car because I forgot some plastic bags when I saw this black man dump his shopping cart next to my car. I instinctively asked him if he was just going to leave his cart there where it could damage my car. I guess he didn’t hear me because he sat down in his car. His kid, a young black girl (age probably between 10-12) came out with a second cart and I so I asked her the same question. No answer, she just dumped the cart.
So I start walking back to the store thinking it wasn’t worth any more effort and the father suddenly storms out of the vehicle shouting and yelling. He is very agitated and he rapidly walks up to get in my face "yeah I am gonna leave the cart, watcha gonna do about it?". I immediately turn around and walk away to avoid any physical confrontation like a civilized person. He keeps shouting obscenities "walk the walk mother f**er" and I am completely shocked. I didn’t know if I was going to call 9-11 or what. I was afraid he would vandalize my car.
I am a peaceful person, I resolve my conflicts with words. I haven’t been in a fight since grade school and I am not built for fighting. I am scholar, and I’m going placed once I’m done with graduate school. I’ve been told that I galvanized him when I confronted his child but in my culture it is common to correct other children as an adult. I wasn’t disrespectful, I simply asked a fair question.
I want to know why black people are ostensibly incapable of resolving conflicts with words. Why do they feel the need to fight all the time? I’ve lost all my respect for black people after this conflict and I’ve begun working out. I plan on buying mace and possibly taking self-defense classes so next time I won’t back down. The problem is I used to be at peace but now I am angry all the time. I don’t want to feel such resent towards black people.
Any input especially from members of the black community would be appreciated.

Hi, can anyone answer the following?:
1. I know there are heaps of free subdomain names eg something.com/yourname and free build your own website websites, but if you want you want your own name eg yourname.com, you need a hoster to host your domain. Those hosts were started by ordinary people, and they started with no websites. So what i mean and my question is, how can i ‘start’ a ‘hoster’ and just host my own website with my own domain? Instead of relying on another webpage to give me myname.com, how do i get my own? Can i just make a webpage using HTML then just let that be my webpage?
2. How can i add things like live chat, videos or games, shopping cart that really charges you and process your order, things that are real time based and not just an image? For example, i can put a picture of a shopping cart but its not a real link, or make it a link to a blank page, but how do i really get it to process an order? What about chat pop ups like yahoo mesenger? (not chat rooms)
3. How can i make a website that people can register an account for free or a charge, and they can log in, update their account whenever and log out, and the next time they log in the info is still there?
4. How can i make little interactive people/animals that walk around and can do things individually and are controlled by their own players? For example, if i make a shopping game, and two people play separately but live (even if its different time zones), one can click on the other person to chat to them or walk over to them and things.
I know this I really hard and detailed, so if all else fails, what kind of people can I go to? IT specialists? Website designers? Its more a gamey thing I’m after. Software designers? Can i do all this using HTML editors?
Thanks

Like I really did not need a stroller. I always but the baby car seat in the shopping cart, and when my child was able to sit up I just sat her in the cart. I didn’t go walking, not that I didn’t exercise. I drove every where. so why did I really need it.

I have no website experience and know little about how one works. I would like to create a website and blog about MMA events so I’d like to have a daily blog section, a section to pick winning fighters before fights, a news section, photos, maybe some uploaded youtube videos, advertising space and a shopping cart etc… Money is tight. There are so many hosts etc out there. I need one that is super easy to create off of a template and reliable. Any suggestions?

I’m creating a new website business that stems from my experience using essential oils with my massage clients.
Over the past few months many of my clients in person have purchased customized essential oil lotion blends for muscle relief, sleep help, arthiritis relief, etc.
At their encouragement I’ve put together a website and wondered what you web-savvy folks think I should focus on to improve it.
I have added a merchant account and will have shopping cart/credit card capabilities within the next month or so.
Other than that any ideas?

Recently I have been going through some turmoil in my life, and it has been based around cars, and when cars are involved, of course money.
For the whole year of 2010 I have been having hard times in school, sometimes at work and I just need some guidance and some help on how to get my life together. It seems no matter how hard I try, something always breaks, or I do something horribly wrong. It has not been until I started driving and college that these things happened, in high school these things never happened because in high school i never tried anything, or dared to do anything new, I kept it cool and collective and boring through my 4 years of high school. But now that I’m in college, it seems like everything I try, winds up backfiring in my face
Recently I ran into a shopping cart in my moms brand new 2011 Camry, which was an complete accident because it was foggy and snowy outside. She is getting that fixed on her own but recently a buddy of mine was playing too much and jumped on the roof of my car and broke my windshield. Now I dont know how much that is going to cost to get it fixed, but I know its going to be a good heap of change. What i was planning on doing is trading the car in as is, for a used car of my dreams that I have been saving for (2000 honda accord coupe). Things have been going well until this crap. Should I trade in my moms 94 tercel coupe and just finance the car or should I repair the windshield and save my money again to pay the car in full like I had planned?
My question to you guys is how do I avoid these stupid mistakes and get my life and my money back on track?

is there any way that i can fix a dent by myself? my car got hit by a shopping cart today and it left a huge dent in the area above where my front tire is, and another tiny one a foot away from it. i cant really go and fix it from the back because there’s something in the way, and i really don’t want to even know how much this is gonna cost me to go to a repair shop. the dent isn’t very deep, but it’s about the size of a palm.
i was feeling around in the area and i felt some screws that keep the outside metal screwed to the rest of the car (sorry if that doesn’t make sense). i’m pretty sure i’d be able to take it off, but i don’t know if that’s a good idea.
i tried to use a plunger, and i don’t think i want to use one of those suctions where i have to poke a hole in my car…so…
like i said, i already tried a plunger. and i doubt the store would do anything about it…besides that, i work there!

Hey, I am starting up a business, and to my newfound dismay, I have used GoDaddy for hosting an used their "Quick Shopping Cart" template option. Anyway, I am not doing a traditional website where the customer orders online and I ship to them, but rather I am going to have a delivery service. The problem is that I want the customer to be able to establish a "recurring delivery" for every X amount of weeks. How would I get this option on my website? I don’t know CSS or HTML (though it might be the time to learn) so please let me know how to do this in layman’s terms and with layman’s ability. Thanks!

I just went to cyberpower, and read the list of all the components of one of their systems, and picked out each exact component over at newegg.com and put it in my shopping cart…
The end result was the comp from cyber power cost 9 with free shipping, and all the parts from newegg cost ,069 plus shipping
I know how to build a computer, and would like to do that, but if it’s cheaper to buy a pre-built, why would I want to order the parts and build it myself? It seems like more money, more work and less warranty. Am I right on this?
ok, cyberpower.com has a system configurator to where you can choose from lots of different parts to get exactly what you want…. and about all the software they load their systems up with…that’s nothing more than a format away. I could just wipe the hard drive, take the computer apart, and I ‘d be where I would if i bought all the parts.

my husband and I were at our local Wal Mart. My 12 month old was seated with her seat belt on in the shopping cart…just like she has done hundreds of times. The next thing I know she is SCREAMING bloody murder. Somehow she had gotten her right foot, up past her ankle stuck between the bars right by where her legs are supposed to go. Long story short, we finally got someone to bring something to lube up her leg but she ended up with a swollen and bruised ankle. I am just wondering if anyone else had run into a situation like this and what can be done to make Wal Mart redesign their carts.
yeah, we have the metal ones with the bars. our target has plastic ones with a criss cross design which seems MUCH better
KRISTA D- HOW DID THAT HAPPEN??

My son is five months old and since he’s tall and big for his age, it’s getting harder to carry him in his carrier when I go shopping. He can sit up pretty well supported, so I’m sure we can start putting him in a normal car seat soon. However, I’m not sure if he would be able to sit up well in the front seat of a shopping cart. Just wondering at what age can they do this? Thanks
By the way, I’m not asking when my son can use a forward facing car seat. I know that’s when he’s 1 year old. We have a normal car seat that can face backwards like most can.

Every time we go to Target, my daughter finds the flimsy plasti-crap toy shopping cart and enjoys pushing it around the store. This has been going on for a year…. and I have so far not bought it for her because it is flimsy and overpriced.
Since her 3rd birthday is nearing, this is the item that came to mind when thinking about what she gravitates toward. I could get her a better quality shopping cart than that…but how long is it likely to hold her interest now that she is turning 3?
Does your child have a toy shopping cart? At what age did they lose interest in playing with it?

If I don’t want to buy it, but I want to come back to it, do I add it to my wish list? Does that just mean I can find it quicker than searching through all the pages and everything? And what is your shopping cart/bag? Also, if I sign up for an account on a website, am I going to have to pay money even if I don’t buy anything?

It took place at Stater Bros.? I think. And for the first round you would try to take food that would cost the most in your shopping cart. The winner would go to round two where he or she would have to find some certain food from a previous hint on the back of the food label…

Well about a week ago I had a dream that me and my boyfriend started living together. Then I saw me and him walking on a street pushing a cart with four babies. The cart was made of metal and it looked like a mini shopping cart. I remember the babies getting hurt and one of them was on its side and his head was getting hit by the cart as we walked. I remember getting worried and stopped to pick up the baby and fix him so he doesn’t get hurt. Then we entered a supermarket and I had to go up creaky wooden stairs to get to the entrance door. As I was walking up one of the steps broke and my foot fell inside. My boyfriend grabbed me out and then we walked into the supermarket. It was soo soo bright and there was candy and icecream everywhere. It looked like candyland or something. Then I woke up. How weird is this dream? And what could it mean?

My baby is 2 months old now so doctor said it’s okay to go in public places. My question is how do you carry your baby while you are shopping in stores? I see some people put the car seat on top of the shopping cart but I am too scared to do that. On the side of my car seat it clearly says not to do that cause the cart can flip over. What other options do I have?
