The frame of my go-cart is broken. The break is right next to the engine. Is it safe to weld right next to the engine, or will we have to take apart the cart and just take the parts we need to get welded?
cover the engine cover it with a welding jacket
You should be alright-on a car with a bunch of computers, there would be an issue, but not on a cart.
As long as you aren’t near the carburetor or fuel lines as carb’s aren’t sealed tight there could be a fire, also it may be easier to get to the area that needs to be welded if the engine is removed.
