What to do with a full shopping cart, a crying baby, an active toddler, and you REALLY have to pee?

This has happened to me at least once, and I was extremely fortunate to see a friend at the store who offered to watch the cart & kids for a minute while I went to the bathroom. Actually the baby wasn’t crying, but my bladder was so full I felt like the whole world was screaming. What would I have done if I hadn’t run into that friend?

I’d make a big mental note telling myself "pee before you leave the house" or "pee when you get to the store", for next time. It’s so normal for me to use the bathroom before leaving for somewhere that it never really occurred to me that some people don’t, but…

… I know it’s not pleasant, but I’d just leave the cart near the restroom and take both kids in with me. No worries about the cart, really. It’ll still be there and still be full when you come out. One nice thing about having a toddler is that you get a lot of leeway as far as public restrooms go. No one is going to think badly about you because they’ll just naturally assume that Toddler is potty training and needs those "quick, pee!" trips to the restroom.

Well, I have run into this situation a few times, and I ask someone who works at the store to please hold my cart while I run to the bathroom. Then I grab the babies and go to the restroom (ideally the largest stall) then return to my cart and continue shopping!

    1. wear a skirt.
    2. bring an empty coffee cup.
    3 find an empty aisle
    4. you know what to do.
    5. abandon cup.

…and no one is any the wiser.

Honestly if I was in this situation I would take the children into the bathroom with me and leave the cart outside the bathroom. I wouldn’t want to risk it and leave them with a stranger or by themselves. I rather be safe then sorry, but that’s good you saw a friend.

most stores have a bathroom so just leave your shopping cart outside the door. then take the children in the bathroom with you. it really isn’t that hard just frustrating since the toddler most likely will get impatient in the bathroom.

Set your cart somewhere, what are the odds of someone coming into the store and needing all the items you have in your cart? Take the little ones, run to the potty, biggest stall of course, and pee, then continue shopping.

welcome to motherhood…you deal…wondering if this is a real question…finding it hard to believe you don’t have enough common sense to figure this one out…
