   A 5 hp flat head Briggs will be a good starter engine. Plenty fast enough new, and hundreds of go-fast parts available. Second choice would be a Honda engine, very durable.

   usually a 20hp side-shaft honda is a good way to go, alot of them have electric start nowadays
