when is it ok for my son to sit in a shopping cart with out his car seat and sit in his stroller?
Ok so my son is going to be 8 months old this sunday... He can crawl, sit by himself and roll over by himself. He already needs a new car seat because...
Ok so my son is going to be 8 months old this sunday… He can crawl, sit by himself and roll over by himself. He already needs a new car seat because his old one which was supposed to go up to a year he is too big for… the new one wont be able to fit into a shopping cart, isn’t made for it and isn’t made to sit in the stroller like the other one…
So is it time for him to move on and finally sit in the stroller and sit in the shopping cart?
Btw he just starting sitting by himself for about a week… and I mean he gets up by himself not that we put him like that and he is able to stay like that.

Yeah, I think that it would be fine. I’ve seen teeny tiny babies sitting up by themselves in shopping carts. My son is like twice the size of those babies and he can’t sit up yet lol. He is going to need a new car seat too because his feet stick way out and it’s hard enough for me to lug it around without worrying about hitting his feet on things. I would definitely try the shopping cart now if I were you. Make sure that he is buckled in though, and you might want to take a lysol wipe to the seat before you put your baby in. You never know what was sitting in there! Good luck! =]
he should be fine. the concern is just that they can keep themselves upright, and since he can, go ahead.
Since most strollers recline, he should have been able to sit in a stroller since birth.
If he is sitting up well unsupported he is fine in the shopping cart. Just buy one of those cushioned straps that go around him to keep him secure in the cart.
Of course, if he can sit by himself there’s no harm at all.
OMG my daughter 8mth 2wks .. and the other day i was to lazy to lug the whole car seat ( im pregnant ) so i took my daughter out to see if i could she LOVED it !! just make sure you go slow … and ive been putting her in teh stroller for sometime now but mine has sholder straps hell really enjoy it !
My son is 7 1/2 months and he can sit in a shopping car and stroller just fine, albeit, he doesn’t much like to. I think he should be fine.
it shouldnt be a problem having him sit in the seat.
you could always put a blanket around him.
he will be fine in the stroller as he can lean back with head support
my son started sitting in the trolley at around 9-10 months – but i bought a trolley cover for the seat as i didnt want him to touch the trolley (35% of all trolley bars have traces of poo on them!!) i was shocked when i found out that, and my baby cousin got a rash all over his face from sucking on the trolley bar EWWW so i highly recommend a cover
and keep an eye out cause he’ll start grabbing stuff off the shelf lol my son grabs stuff out of my trolley and chucks it out!!
