First you need a SD card that has Gb’s not mb’s so that you have more memory because you probably don’t have enough
Second do you have the right type of memory card the Wii takes a certain type of SD card it might not be the right one
I’m not sure how to fix this, but I have run into an identical problem – even with the same game! Anyway, I was going to a friend’s house to play Wii. I was taking Mario Kart Wii with me, and decided to save all my data to my handy SD card, to show off my Mario Kart Wii prowess. I go to save that and some others, and it says the same. All I can say is that there’s probably no way you can get it to save. Sorry.
P.S. That wasn’t the only game that wouldn’t save, but at least one or two did save. I don’t know why…
EDIT: To add on two the second answerer’s answer, the Wii’s total internal memory is 512MB, so I don’t think you’ll need anything more than that. Second, it will take any SD card – you don’t need to get one that says "Compatible with Wii" or whatever on it, heck, I just use the 1GB one for my phone and put it in an SD adapter.
To copy Wii games, I use the following method:
1) Go to http://copywiigamesguide.blogspot.com to learn the newest and easieist ways to copy Wii games.
2) Use http://nintendo-wii-homebrew-unlock-hack.blogspot.com/ to find out how to play copied and import Wii games on your Wii without a mod chip!
